What a wonderful first week at Topsail Middle School! Our students spent the week learning and reviewing school expectations, practicing important procedures, and participating in fun get-to-know-you activities with their classmates and teachers.

There were smiling faces and lots of positive energy throughout our building. The cafeteria was filled with laughter and conversation as students connected with one another and began getting acclimated to their daily school routines.

We are so proud of the way our students have embraced the start of the school year! We look forward to building on this momentum and making it a fantastic year at Topsail Middle!

🕒 Early Check-Out Reminder

• Please remember that 12:45 pm is the check out time in order to be counted a full day and there will be no student check-outs after 3:00 p.m. This helps us ensure a safe and smooth dismissal process.

👕 Dress Code Reminder

• Please review Board Policy 4316 and ensure students come to school dressed appropriately each day. Thank you for helping us maintain a positive and school-appropriate learning environment.

A Later Start to Better Support Our Students

This past spring, our new school schedule was approved to allow the school day to begin a little later than in previous years. This change was made to help improve bus transportation schedules and provide a smoother start to the school day.

8:15 AM – Students may arrive on campus

8:45 AM – Tardy Bell rings; students should be in class and ready to learn
3:40 PM – Dismissal

Families are encouraged to review bus information and transportation updates regularly. Please make sure students know their bus information and understand expectations for safe and respectful behavior while riding the bus.

New this year: All absence notes must be submitted electronically through Infinite Campus.

• 📱 Please submit your student’s absence note through Infinite Campus.
• 🚫 Do not send a written note with your student to school.
• ⏰ Please submit absence documentation as soon as possible following your student’s absence.
• ✅ Using Infinite Campus will help us process absence documentation more efficiently and keep attendance records accurate.

All student-athletes must have their FinalForms account completed and approved before participating in any workouts or tryouts.

Middle school is an important time for students as they develop academically, socially, and personally. Our partnership with families is essential to student success.

We encourage families to:

• Check student grades and assignments regularly through Infinite Campus.
• Talk with your child about their school day.
• Encourage consistent attendance and punctuality.
• Stay connected with teachers and the school.
• Review school announcements and important dates.
• Encourage your child to get involved in school activities.

• Mark your calendars for ours first spirit event of the year! Join us Thursday September 10th at WilmyWoodie’s wood fired pizza truck at LBC in Hampstead. A portion of your sale helps support our school.
• TMS PTO meets on the second Thursday of each month at 5:30 PM in the media center. Please make plans to join us at our first meeting of the year on September 10th
• Spirit wear is available now! Visit our givebacks site to purchase. Please note, TMS hoodies are sold as presale items only. This means orders must be placed by September 18 and will be delivered mid October. T-shirt’s, Pura Vida bracelets and stickers are available for quick delivery.
