Tigerville Times
November 2026 Edition
From the Principal's Desk
November is a wonderful time to celebrate the accomplishments of our Tigerville Tigers! We are incredibly proud to share that Tigerville Elementary has been recognized as the #5 elementary school in South Carolina by US News & World Report and the #3 elementary school in Greenville County. This recognition reflects our students' sustained high achievement and the dedication of our teachers and staff. Tigerville has also earned an Excellent rating on the South Carolina School Report Card, highlighting the hard work and commitment that make our school such a special place to learn and grow. We are grateful for the continued support of our families and community in helping our students succeed!
Looking ahead, we have several exciting events planned for November. We will honor our veterans during our Veterans Day program on November 11 and look forward to gathering with families for our Thanksgiving Lunch on November 12. We are also excited to welcome our ArtsNOW partners for instructional planning and demonstration lessons that will continue to help our teachers integrate the arts into classroom instruction aligned with curriculum standards. We wish all our Tigerville families a happy and restful Thanksgiving break, November 25–27!
At Tigerville, we are thankful for our hardworking students, dedicated staff, supportive families, and community partners. Together, we continue to build on our tradition of excellence and make a positive difference in the lives of our Tigers!
Art Lines
We have been working so hard around the art room during the month of October! The creative sparks continue to fly as we move into the holiday season. One of our national and state Power Standards for Arts Education states: Visual Art Anchor Standard 6: I can identify and examine the role of visual arts through history, world cultures and celebrations. The artistic and creative expressions of our heart-felt celebrations gives us a sense of tradition, family foundation and a centered place of being- HOME. We currently are working to honor our Veterans for our school art show featuring artwork that shares the expressions of gratefulness to our military heroes. We also have school art work displayed to continue a grateful artistic expression of the season of harvest and Thanksgiving. We will soon be creating ornaments for our school Christmas tree which will be displayed in our school atrium area and feature a unique ornament for the tree! I invite you to see the various art displays during the next few months.
Important Announcement The deadline to place your orders from The Original Works art work is Friday, November 6th. Brochures were sent home last week for you to view the art your child made. Parents are invited to view their student’s work and consider placing an on-line order with many products available using the student art they created. Products ordered are scheduled for early December delivery and make excellent gift choices for family, friends, and students to help complete your Christmas shopping lists! Contact Mrs. Smith if you have questions or need help placing an order. Please remember to use your student ID # found at the top right corner of the brochure you received last week that is specific to your child’s art work. Also, our school code (if needed) is TIG. Thanks for supporting the art program at Tigerville with your purchase and enjoy these treasures made by your children for years to come!
Counselor's Corner
Library Loop
Thank you to our Tigerville families and staff for supporting the Storybook Character Parade. We had a great turn out and enjoyed seeing all of our Tigerville families.
Our annual Veterans Day program is at 9:00 AM on Wednesday, November 9. We had a great turnout last year and would love to have a great turnout this year as well. We would like to extend an invitation to any veterans who wish to attend the program. This is our way of honoring and celebrating these heroes in our community!
Music Notes
I can’t believe it is already November! The time is going by way too fast. There is a good bit of stuff going on this month so go ahead and mark dates on your calendars.
Chorus will have their first performance on Wednnsday, Nov. 11th for our Veterans program. The kids are doing a great job learning their songs and can’t wait to show their appreciation to all the Veterans.
Recorder Karate for 3rd, 4th, and 5th begins in January. All 3rd grade and any 4th or 5th graders that were not at Tigerville last year will need to purchase a Recorder. The cost is $5.00 each and they are available to purchase now. I have 7 different colors so they will want to purchase quickly if they have a favorite as red is already gone.. Send cash or Check, made out to TES, to the music room to pick their color. Recorders will stay in the music room so if they want one to practice at home you may want to purchase 2.
2nd-5th wwill start Ukulele lessons the 1st week of November. I’m going to ask that students not bring their own Ukuleles this year because I simply do not have time in my schedule to tune more during the day. The kids absolutely love playing the Ukulele. It might just be a great present from Santa, or anyone else in the family. 2nd grade will play a good bit after the holiday break while 3rd-5th will focus more on the Recorder and Ukulele.
K4, K5, and 1st will continue their lessons on Quaver and start adding more complex instruments during their lessons. 1st grade will start in the Keyboard Lab in January.
If you ever have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to call or email. Have a wonderful November!

A Beloved Tigerville Tradition: Thanksgiving Pies
One of our favorite traditions is back! Each Thanksgiving, PTA helps send our wonderful teachers and staff home with a pie to enjoy with their families.
Would you like to help make it happen? Please visit our website https://linktr.ee/tespta to sign-up. Every generous contribution helps us show our teachers and staff just how thankful we are for all they do! Don't have time to shop for pie? Monetary contributions are welcome too, and PTA will purchase the pie.
Whether you volunteer your time, donate to a special tradition, or simply stay connected, your support makes a difference. We are thankful for each of you and wish all our Tiger families a happy and blessed Thanksgiving season!
