Two-Hour Delayed Start - Wednesday, November 20 Two-Hour Delayed Start - Wednesday, November 20

Due to power outages and wind damage, there will be a two-hour delayed start today, Wednesday, November 20, in the Sedro-Woolley School District. This delay allows time for crews to repair power lines and clear roadways, ensuring safer travel across our district's 395-square-mile area.

Adjustments for a Two-Hour Late Start:

  • No Professional Learning Wednesday Activities or staff meetings.
  • Bus schedules: All morning bus pick-ups will run two hours later than normal. Please expect potential delays due to downed trees or power lines. Use the My Ride K-12 app for updates on your child’s bus route. Directions to access your student’s information are available here.
  • Cancellations:
    • Morning Preschool Programs: This includes Good Beginnings, Samish Cooperative, Cub Club, and Y @ Good Beginnings Preschool.
    • Before-School Programs: No before-school activities, including Cascade Middle School’s music programs.
    • Before-School Child-Specific Meetings: Child specific special education meetings will be rescheduled as soon as possible.
    • Field Trips: All field trips—both within and outside the district—will be canceled.
    • Out-of-District Transportation: AM/PM transportation for programs like Northwest Career & Technical Academy, special education, and McKinney-Vento students will not run.
  • Breakfast Service: Breakfast will only be available at Sedro-Woolley High School, State Street High School, and Cascade Middle School.

Our team has been assessing roads this morning. Some routes are closed according to WSDOT and there is currently no estimated time for reopening.

Thank you for your understanding, patience and flexibility as we work to ensure the safety of our students and staff. A special thanks to first responders, road crews and linemen who are working hard to restore safety this morning.
