Week Nine

Good afternoon Louisburg Elementary Families,

Even though last week was a short one, we packed in plenty of learning, excitement, and fun at LES! We loved seeing all the creative and unique hats on our Early Release Day! Our 3rd–5th grade students worked hard on their first NC Reading Check-In, and our Scholastic Book Fair was a HUGE success! A special thank-you to our Mustang families for your incredible support! Seeing the excitement on students' faces as they picked out their favorite books and treasures was such a joy!

We also enjoyed welcoming families to our Family Literacy Night! While our crowd was smaller than we had hoped, those who joined us had a wonderful time playing literacy games, learning together, and making memories. Thank you to everyone who came out and supported this special evening!

Looking ahead, we have another exciting week! On Friday, October 23, we will welcome students from Early College who are interested in pursuing careers in education. These students will have the opportunity to work alongside some of our teachers and experience the wonderful things happening in our classrooms. We are thrilled about this partnership and the opportunity to inspire future educators right here in Franklin County!

📅 A Few Important Reminders

  • October 21:🧡 Wear ORANGE for Unity Day to show our commitment to kindness, acceptance, and inclusion! Let's turn LES orange!
  • October 26–29: PTO BooGrams on sale! Information will be coming home soon.
  • October 28: 5th Grade Field Trip
  • October 30: Kindergarten Field Trip
  • October 30: Last Day of the First Quarter

As we approach the end of our first quarter, we want to thank our families for your continued support and partnership. It is hard to believe how quickly this school year is moving, but we are so proud of the learning, growth, and hard work happening each day at LES!

Every student, every day, learning through speaking, writing, and doing in every classroom.

Thank you,

Student Pick Up Reminder Student Pick Up Reminder

Student safety is always our number one priority. If someone who is not listed on your child’s Infinite Campus (IC) pick-up list needs to pick up your child, you must email one of our main office staff members giving that individual permission:

  • Mr. Johnson: QuentinJohnson@fcschools.net

  • Ms. Lassiter: tammilassiter@fcschools.net

When the individual arrives, we will ask to see a photo ID to verify their identity. If they are in driveline and do not have a driveline tag, they will be asked to come into the building so our office staff can verify their identification and confirm that we have permission from you for your child to be released to them.

Every Minute Counts Every Minute Counts

Every Minute Counts!

As a reminder, students should arrive at school by 7:45 a.m. to avoid being marked tardy. Instruction begins promptly following announcements at 7:48 a.m.

We also want families to be aware that students arriving late must be at school by 10:56 a.m. to be counted present for the day. Students who need to leave early must remain at school until 10:54 a.m. to be counted present.

Student attendance, including late arrivals and early dismissals, is an important focus for us this year. Every minute of learning matters, and we want our Mustangs here and ready to learn!
