For Our Lake Forest, Lake Bluff, and Knollwood Community Members:
As we prepare to begin referendum construction projects at Lake Forest High School in June 2024, we will share ongoing updates with the community. We want all taxpayers to have access to clear and timely information about our progress.
Next month, we will share an updated referendum web page that will include phased timelines, bid packages, a tool for tracking expenditures, and spotlight stories about the people and purpose behind our work.
We are also introducing a video series, “Under the Hard Hat,” featuring LFHS student reporters and Director of Facilities Dan Mortensen. This week, I am pleased to share the preview below.
We could not be more excited to kick off this work and remain grateful to our entire community for your contributions to this effort.
All my best,
Matthew L. Montgomery, Ph.D.
Superintendent

Congratulations, Henry Lisenby!
If you See Something, Say Something® is a national campaign intended to encourage reporting of suspicious or unsafe activity.
Lake Forest School District 67 challenges staff and students to “have each other's back” by reporting any suspicious activity that could place someone in danger. Students are our best source for seeing and saying something.
One can Say Something by any of the following means:
- Telling a teacher
- Telling someone in the office
- Telling the school principal or assistant principal
- Telling a parent
- Making a Confidential Report on Districts’ website (which can be anonymous)
- Calling Lake Forest Police Department
On Wednesday, January 24, Deer Path Middle School sixth-grader Henry Lisenby after basketball practice observed a safety issue at the West Administrative Center. Henry reported the unsafe condition to his father and the situation was corrected.
On behalf of Superintendent Montgomery, our Director of Safety and Security, Chuck Walsh, and with great appreciation we award the See Something Say Something Certificate and DPM prize to Henry Lisenby.
THANK YOU, Henry!
Tomorrow - Lunar New Year Celebration at DPM!
Our District 67 Lunar New Year celebration at the Deer Path Middle School cafeteria is scheduled for Thursday, February 8 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm.
This event promises to be a memorable occasion, featuring highlights such as a dragon dance and orchestra performance of Lunar New Year songs, as well as six engaging stations offering activities such as paper cutting, origami, dragon dance teaching, Chinese checkers, shuttlecock, and paper dumpling making! Additionally, our amazing Mandarin APT parents will be contributing Asian food, and goodie bags to add to the festivities.
We hope to see you there!
