Dear HISN families,
What an up and down week it has been with the weather. That being said it is so lovely to see the sunshine today rather than the rain from yesterday!
This week has been another busy week for our children. Our Year 2 have been learning about ‘The Great Fire of London’ and they have started their workshops - which have been engaging and informative. It is always a really popular topic with our children.
Alongside this, Miss Tremayne and Mrs Biagioni (our History leads) have put together a range of activities for ‘Black History Month’. Each week, during assembly, we look at a key figure and learn about them. This year the theme is: “Honouring Our Communities” and it has been interesting looking at our local community and learning about people close to home.
This month, we also have the opportunity to be part of ‘National Poetry Day’. Thank you to Miss Lowin (our writing lead) and for her work around ‘Young Writers’. We have been very impressed with the number of entries that have come into the school. If your child would still like to enter, the deadline is Monday 19th October.
Thank you to all our families for signing up to your child's parent consultation. If you are unable to make the given time, our class teacher's will arrange a 10 minute follow up phone call.
Thank you for all your support with attendance and getting our children back into their routine. Our staff have worked incredibly hard to ensure that the environment and activities are welcoming and engaging.
Have a wonderful weekend when it arrives.
