Dear McNair Families,

Thank you for your continued partnership and support of Ronald E. McNair Middle School! We hope you enjoyed a restful and enjoyable Fall Break. We are excited to welcome our Astros back and continue a strong second quarter.

We truly enjoyed hosting our families for Title I and Curriculum Night and appreciate everyone who came out to learn more about our instructional priorities and ways to support student success. Thank you as well to the parents who joined us for Chat & Chew. Your engagement and partnership make a difference!

Please mark your calendars for our upcoming ELA Night on Thursday, November 19, 2026, from 5:30–7:30 p.m. We look forward to seeing you there!

A Few Important Reminders:

📚 The 9-Week Grading Period Is Ending Soon
Please encourage your scholar to attend school every day, arrive on time, complete all assignments, and take advantage of opportunities to make up missing work. Every day and every assignment matter!

🎒 Clear or Mesh Bookbags Only
Students are reminded that only clear or mesh bookbags are permitted at McNair Middle School.

🚫 No Vaping or Bullying
We will not tolerate vaping, bullying, or behaviors that compromise the safety and well-being of our school community. Incidents will be addressed with appropriate consequences in accordance with the Fulton County Schools Code of Conduct.

6th Grade Families: A Hard Reset

Our 6th-grade scholars are still adjusting to the expectations and routines of middle school, and we have observed some challenges with student behavior. We will be implementing a hard reset of expectations with our 6th graders.

Parents, please take a moment to speak with your scholar about respect, responsibility, appropriate behavior, following adult directions, and making positive choices at school. We want our 6th graders to understand that middle school comes with increased independence, but it also comes with increased responsibility.

Finally, Happy Hispanic Heritage Month to our Hispanic scholars, families, and members of the McNair community! We are proud to celebrate the rich cultures, histories, contributions, and traditions of our Hispanic community.

Thank you again for your continued partnership. Together, we will ensure that our Astros remain Rooted in Excellence, because Excellence is the Standard!

Have a wonderful weekend, and we look forward to a strong week ahead!

Dear McNair Middle School 7th Grade Parents and Guardians,

As we begin the 2026–2027 school year, we want to remind families of Georgia’s immunization requirements for students entering 7th grade.

All 7th-grade students are required to have documentation of the following vaccinations:

  • 1 dose of Tdap (Tetanus, Diphtheria, Pertussis)

Any 7th-grade student who does not have the required immunizations or proper immunization documentation on file by September 18, 2026, will be unenrolled from

McNair Middle School.

If your child has already received the required vaccinations, please ensure that an updated Form 3231 has been submitted to the school. If your child still needs one or more required vaccinations, please contact your healthcare provider or local health department as soon as possible.

We strongly encourage families to take action before the September 18 deadline to avoid any disruption to your child's enrollment.

Ronald E. McNair Middle School's Personal Electronic Devices (PED) Policy

This school year, Ronald E. McNair Middle School is fully implementing the Fulton County Schools Personal Electronic Devices (PED) Policy. Under this policy, all personal electronic devices (PEDs), including but not limited to cell phones, smartwatches, earbuds, and similar devices, must be powered off and stored in students' individually assigned lockers from 8:55 a.m. to 4:05 p.m.

Parents or guardians may retrieve confiscated devices between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Additionally, progressive disciplinary measures will be implemented, including mandatory parent conferences and increased

consequences for repeated violations.

We encourage all families to review the attached flyer for detailed information regarding policy expectations, approved exceptions, and disciplinary procedures. Thank you for your partnership in supporting a safe and productive learning environment for all students.
