USD 346 Families

This year, both of our schools are using the "ROOMS" feature of the Jayhawk USD 346 app to communicate with families. It is completely fine to contact the school and staff via phone and email, but our district app has some helpful features for communicating between home and school. Here are some of strongest reasons to use the app: You can receive messages from your child's teacher, coaches, and other staff members directly to your phone. The messages are easy to read, reply to, and send. All the communication comes from one app making things simpler for families with multiple students in different classrooms, buildings, teams, and activities. You won't have to download multiple apps anymore! Teachers can easily share announcements, reminders, and materials with your family. This might include information like updates to schedules, photos of classroom activities, sign-up sheets, forms, and more. The app allows you to get a text whenever a news announcement or message is posted from the school.

1. Make sure your phone's operating system is up-to-date.

2. Download and open the Jayhawk USD 346 app. If you do not have this app, you can get it for free at the Apple or Google Play stores. Just search for "Jayhawk USD 346."

3. Open the Jayhawk USD 346 app on your phone

4. Click Rooms at the bottom

5. Click on Continue to Sign In

6. Enter your cell phone number

7. Click Done

8. Click Continue

9. You will be texted a 6 digit code in the app to authenticate

10. A screen will open with terms. Scroll through all the items until you get to the bottom and click on Agree to Terms of Use

11. Your screen will refresh to sign in

12. Click Save to continue in English (you can choose a different language)

13. Your phone should refresh and then you should see your kid(s) and their connected classes.

If you didn't receive the 6-digit code, please call the school. It could be that we need to update your guardian information in PowerSchool. PowerSchool and the mobile app sync nightly so changes to contact information will be effective the next day.

Q: I cannot find the app on the App Store. What do I need to search?

A: Enter Jayhawk USD 346 in the search.

Q: I've heard that I need the Thrillshare app as a parent. Is this true?

A: No, parents will not use the Thrillshare. Thrillshare is an app teachers and administrators use to manage the content that goes into Jayhawk USD 346 District app.

Q: I can download the app but when I click on Rooms and try to login with my phone number, I do not receive the text with the 6 digit code. What should I do next?

A: If you did not receive the code, please contact the school. Our school technology systems and the mobile app syncs nightly and changes to contact information will be effective the next day.

Q: What number will texts be received from?

A: No matter what school your child attends, texts will be received from the same numbers - please save these numbers to your contacts.

Q: Will a parent be able to see multiple kids at different schools?

A; Parents will have one login but they can have multiple kids and schools in their account. They will only have to login once to view all students. It's very similar to REMIND but with more features. For example, parents can filter by schools so they do not see all of the school's announcements and events mixed into one feed.

Q: Can we delete REMIND from our phones?

A; Yes. Parents no longer need previously used apps.
