Girls on the Run!
Girls on the Run inspires individuals of all abilities to discover, build, and grow their self-confidence. Together, they experience a sense of belonging and connection as a team. Volunteer coaches facilitate lessons that blend physical activity with life skill development, including managing emotions, fostering friendships, and expressing empathy. At the end of the season, the team completes a Community Impact Project and a 5K together, which provides a tangible sense of accomplishment and sets a confident mindset into motion.
Girls on the Run participant registration is open! 3-5th grade girls can register for a Northglade Team and opt to participate on Monday/Wednesday or Tuesday/Thursday. Register here.
Winter Weather
During the winter, our students do go outside to play during recess. This means that they need to dress for outdoors. Please be sure to send your students to school with proper outdoor gear. Things they may need are snow pants, gloves, hats, scarves, boots and coats. You may want to put an extra pair of socks in their backpacks just in case their socks get wet.
You may also want to dress students in layers for school. Some rooms seem to run hot, while others are a little cooler. Being able to take off or put on clothing while I class, may be helpful for your student.
