Panther Weekly
October 13 - October 19
We would like to welcome you to take a look back at 50 years of Parkview!
This year we are excited to celebrate Parkview's 50th Anniversary. Over the school year, you may notice our clubs, athletics and activities all finding a way to join in the celebration. They may have alumni at their games, guest conductors at their concerts or 50th themed events.
In this section we will feature images and facts about Parkview's first 50 years!
Parkview Has Pep!
As Homecoming week draws near, we take a moment to celebrate our school's history with the pep rally and the spirit it embodies. The inaugural pep rally at Parkview took place during the 1976 football season, and its format and purpose have remained unchanged over the past 50 years. Students and staff alike have been energized by the cheerleaders' performances and the band’s music, while faculty engaged in games, bringing laughter and encouragement from the students. There's always an unmistakable surge of school spirit in the air.
Initially hosted in the gym (now known as the AUX Gym), pep rallies have since moved to the Main Gym, and occasionally take place in the stadium. Parkview boasts a rich tradition of celebrating Panther Pride, most prominently seen during the 1990s and early 2000s when the school proudly secured 33 state championships between 1990 and 2005.
We eagerly anticipate the upcoming Homecoming Spirit Week, culminating on Friday with the continuation of our cherished Pep Rally, the football game, and dance.

9th Grade 3DE Visits Metro Power
Our 9th Grade 3DE Marketing students recently had an incredible opportunity to visit Metro Power, gaining firsthand insight into the world of industry and business. This site visit was more than just a tour—it was an immersive experience filled with hands-on training and real-world applications of their marketing principles.
The students benefited from expert coaching by Metro Power professionals, who provided invaluable guidance and shared practical knowledge that brought classroom concepts to life. This experience allowed our freshmen to not only observe but actively engage in meaningful learning activities that highlighted the dynamics of the marketing industry.
Throughout the visit, our students demonstrated exceptional communication and professionalism while interacting with our industry partner, Metro Power. Their enthusiasm, curiosity, and thoughtful questions impressed everyone involved and underscored the value of bridging education with real-world experience.
This enriching visit was a wonderful milestone in our 3DE program, empowering our students to build confidence and skills that will serve them well throughout their academic and professional journeys.
We look forward to many more successful partnerships and hands-on learning opportunities for our 3DE students!
Cross Country Canned Food Drive
Cross Country Canned Food Drive
Parkview's Cross Country Team will be conducting a food drive from September 29th to October 17th. Donations can be dropped in the Main Office.
The donations that we receive will be delivered to the Southeast Gwinnett Co-op to support the needs of our surrounding community. Through our canned food drive, we seek to honor two very special people: Hope McKenzie and Tajay Hoppines. Hope was the daughter of long-time Gwinnett coach Willie McKenzie; and Tajay Hoppines was a member of the Mill Creek Cross Country Team. Both Hope and Tajay cared a great deal about others. For these two young people, times were good when times were good for everyone. This canned food drive seeks to honor them by embracing this sentiment.

Driving on Campus
Please note that students will not be able to enter the building until 6:30am each day. If a student is dropped off at school prior to 6:30am, they will be unable to enter the building until 6:30am when the doors are unlocked and opened.
For the safety of our students, staff and all visitors on campus, please follow our procedures when driving on campus.
- Morning carpool is on both sides of campus. Afternoon carpool is only on the A building side of campus next to Camp Creek. Any parents picking up on the stadium side of campus will be asked to turn around. Please do not pull into student or teacher lots for student drop off or pick up.
- Students, please only park in your assigned spot, if you do not have a parking pass, please do not park on the Parkview campus.
- Please follow the instructions of all parking attendants and staff as they direct you through campus. We all are working to make this time run as smooth as possible.
- Please stop at all crosswalks and stop signs on campus. The county has installed speed bumps to help slow vehicles in danger areas.
- Please do not make a left when you are leaving campus during drop off or pick up. This causes traffic to back up both at the school and on Cole Dr. and it creates dangerous situations for buses and other vehicles traveling on Cole Dr.

All checkouts must happen before 1:30 PM. No exceptions. This allows us to prepare for dismissal, thank you for your support.
If you know ahead of time your student needs to leave early, you may do the following:
Send a written note with student in the morning. Note must be received by the Attendance Office before 7:15 AM.
The note must include: Student’s first and last name, date and time of checkout, and parent phone number.
