Student Drop Off/Pick Up Procedures Student Drop Off/Pick Up Procedures

The safety of our students remains a top priority. To ensure a smooth, safe, and efficient start and end to the day for everyone, we would like to remind you of our drop-off/pick-up procedures. Please take a moment to review the map below and the following guidelines:

Where to Drop Off

  • Designated Zone: For the safety of our walkers and staff, please drop off students along the south side of the building (indicated by the green arrows on the map).
  • Direction of Traffic: Please enter from Myron Ave and proceed toward Delaware Rd.
  • Crossing Guard: A crossing guard is stationed at the corner of Delaware Rd to assist students crossing the street.

Areas to Avoid
  • The Bus Lane: The lane on the north side of the building (marked with a red X) is strictly reserved for school buses.
    • For the safety of our students exiting buses, passenger vehicles are not permitted in this area during drop-off times of 7:30-7:50 AM.

A Few Quick Tips for a Smooth Morning/Afternoon:
  • Stay in Sequence: Please stay in line and avoid pulling around other vehicles.
  • Be Ready: Having students ready with their bags and gear helps keep the line moving quickly for everyone.
  • Patience is Appreciated: The first few minutes of the drop-off/pick-up window are always the busiest. Planning to arrive a few minutes earlier can help you avoid the rush!

Thank you for your cooperation in keeping our school community safe and our vehicle traffic flowing smoothly.

Schedules, Lockers, Supplies Schedules, Lockers, Supplies

KJSH is an innovative school that is best understood in-person. We help each individual student understand their schedule, locker assignment, school rules, etc. starting the very first day of school. We do not want to overwhelm anyone before the school year has begun. As a result, we offer the following information to help you prepare as a family for the start of the school year:

  • Schedules will be shared with students during the first week of school.
  • Locker assignments are made during the first week of school.
  • Supply list:
    • Pens
    • Pencils
    • Sneakers and active attire for Physical Education

Garden Gathering Garden Gathering

We are very excited to announce our KJSH Garden Gathering on Thursday July 30, 2026 from 2:00-4:00 PM. All students and their families are invited to socialize, recharge, and nourish at our Community Garden located behind the Longfellow Building at 255 Myron Ave. (directly behind KJSH). Teachers will be present and ready to meet all current and new students and their families! Please consider joining us for this new event.

We are deeply grateful to Nicole Zuegelder, Farm to School Coordinator, for all of her assistance in making our garden and event a reality. She has been a key supporter of our KJSH Community Garden. The garden is successful, in part, because of Nicole's ongoing efforts.

We look forward to seeing you the afternoon of July 30th behind the Longfellow Building!
