Warrior Families,
It is hard to believe we are already heading into October! The first month of school has gone by quickly, and it has been wonderful to see our students settling into routines, reconnecting with friends, and working hard in their classrooms.
As we move further into the school year, we will continue to focus on creating a safe, welcoming, and positive learning environment for every student. Our school-wide expectations—Respect Your Self, Respect Others, and Respect the Environment—are an important part of helping our students make positive choices and take pride in our school community.
October is a great time for families to check in with their children about how the school year is going. Ask them what they are learning, what they are proud of, and what goals they have for the weeks ahead. Your encouragement and involvement make a tremendous difference.
As the weather becomes cooler, please remember to send students dressed appropriately for outdoor recess and activities. We also appreciate your continued support in helping students arrive at school on time and ready to learn each day.
Thank you to our students, families, and staff for helping make the start of the 2026–2027 school year a positive one. I am looking forward to another great month here on the Warrior Campus!
Warrior Reminders:
Please make sure your child arrives to school on time each day. Student drop off and breakfast begins at 7:40 AM. Students need to be in their classrooms no later than 8:10 am.
Attendance matters. If your child is absent, please contact the school explaining the reason for their absence. Regular attendance is critical to student success. We understand that illness and family emergencies happen, but we ask that families make every effort to schedule appointments and vacations outside of school hours. Consistent attendance is one of the keys to academic success.
Have a safe and enjoyable October!
Go Warriors!

Principal

HAUNTED MANSION BUILDERS!
LDF 5th grade students put their creativity and a little Halloween magic to work as they built some spooktacular haunted mansions! Pictured below are mansions built by Linden Tabobondung, and Wayne Schuman. These creepy creations will be going up for sale, so keep your eyes peeled for your chance to take home a haunted house of your very own! And believe it or not, one mansion was so realistic that it even attracted a real spider to move on in! 🕷️ Talk about an authentic Halloween resident! Great job, 5th graders, on this annual frightfully fun event!

Helping Your Child Receive the Full Benefit of Their Education-Facts from the Attendance Office
An absence is any time your child misses any portion of the school day after the start of school (8:10 AM) and before the scheduled end of school (3:25 PM).
Absences are further broken down as excused and unexcused.
All excused absences require communication with school. Any absence lacking communication remains unexcused until such time as information is provided to the school. For an absence to be excused, we need communication from you (email, phone call, written note). It is never too late to communicate for a past absence. Remember, good attendance is more than simply complying with laws; rather, it is truly a matter of providing our children with more and better opportunities to learn!

Cultural Connections Updates
7 Grandfather Teachings --
The traditional concepts of respect and sharing that form the foundation of the Native American way of life are built around the seven natural laws, or sacred teachings. Each teaching honors one of the basic virtues intrinsic to a full and healthy life.
Each law is embodied by an animal to underscore the point that all actions and decisions made by man are manifest on a physical plain. The animal world taught man how to live close to the earth, and the connection that has been established between the animal world and that of man has instilled a respect for all life in those who follow the traditional way.
- The Eagle teaches us LOVE. Love must be unconditional.
- The Buffalo teaches us RESPECT. Respect is the condition of being honored.
- The Bear teaches us COURAGE. Courage is the ability to face danger, fear, or changes with confidence and bravery.
- The Butterfly teaches us HONESTY.
- The Beaver teaches us WISDOM. Wisdom is the ability to make decisions based on personal knowledge and experience.
- The Wolf teaches us HUMILITY. Humility is being humble and not arrogant.
- The Turtle teaches us TRUTH. Truth is to know and understand all the seven teachings have given to us by the Creator and to remain faithful to them.
