Arrival and Dismissal ๐ ๐
๐ข Our doors open for students at 7:30 am. Car riders should be dropped off in our back parking lot, which can be accessed via Lovers Lane and Northgate Avenue. Students are tardy if they arrive after 7:50 am. Students arriving after 7:50 need to be brought into our office and checked in by a parent or guardian.
We do realize that our car line backs up along Northgate avenue and ask that our families be respectful of those that live on Northgate by not blocking driveways and being respectful of their property.
๐จ For the safety of our staff and students, we try to limit traffic in our front parking lot during arrival and dismissal. This lot should only be used to drop off students in our exceptional learnerโs classes and students with limited mobility. We greatly appreciate your cooperation with this.
Food Policies
Breakfast and Lunch are FREE! ๐ฅ ๐ฎ
All students can receive free breakfast and lunch at school. Monthly menus are available on the school nutrition page of the Waynesboro Public Schools website.
Join us for lunch!
You can come in and have lunch with your child any day! Just bring your photo ID and we will have you sign in at the office. We ask that parents and guests not bring fast food when they come to eat lunch with their child. If you are coming to eat with your child and would like to purchase a school lunch, please make sure you have funds on your childโs account, a check, or cash to purchase the meal.
โ *Some days, we may have a different lunch schedule due to testing or other school events. You can always call ahead to ask what time your child has lunch.*
Birthday Celebrations ๐โจ
While we love celebrating our students and recognize that birthdays are special milestones, deliveries of cupcakes, balloons, flowers, and similar items can interrupt learning, create challenges related to food allergies and dietary restrictions, and may not align with our wellness policy.
To help us maintain a safe, inclusive, and focused learning environment, we ask that families refrain from sending cupcakes, balloons, flowers, and similar items to school. If these items are brought to school, our staff will respectfully ask that they be taken back home.
If you would like to recognize your child's birthday or another special occasion with their classmates, we encourage non-disruptive classroom donations that support learning. Families are encouraged to contact their child's teacher or school office for ideas that are appropriate for the classroom.

Friendly Faces
Meet Waynesboro's School Resource Officers (SROs)!
Waynesboro Public Schools has wonderful SROs who you may see floating around Westwood from time to time. They like to spend time in our schools building relationships with students, answering questions, participating in events, and helping to keep everyone safe.
๐ฎ Officer Morales
Hello! My name is Officer Morales, and Iโm excited to serve as the School Resource Officer for our school community. Iโm looking forward to getting to know our students, families, and staff while building positive relationships throughout the school year.
My approach is โprevention through education.โ I believe we can help make our schools safe and welcoming places where every student, staff member, and family feels comfortable asking for help, talking with me, or simply saying hello.
Iโve been fortunate to support this approach through mentorship programs, Hispanic outreach, and many other opportunities to connect with and serve our community.
Iโm looking forward to a great year together!
๐ฎ Officer Whitmer
I was a career Firefighter and Medic for 20 years prior and retired from the military before that. I love being a School Resource Officer and look forward to seeing all the kids each and every day.
I have one piece of advice, always take accountability for your actions. You will be better off when you do!
