8th Grade Walk

When: Friday , May 22 @ 10:00 am

Where: Otwell Middle School

Why: Students will walk the halls to be recognized, congratulated, and to say goodbye.

Parents are invited! Please read carefully.

2. Your badge will be in the front entryway of the school starting at 9:15.
2. If you do not pre-register, come early to allow time to check in through the front office.

8th Grade is hosting an old school field day on Thursday 5/21. We need supplies and volunteers to make this a success. If you can donate supplies, please send in by Wednesday 5/20. Volunteers will be needed on Thursday, 5/21

Advanced Science: It has absolutely been my pleasure teaching your kids this year, and I look forward to seeing them on the 7th grade hall next year! As you know, we have a county-wide final exam next week that will wrap up all we've learned since January. There are study points linked on Canvas, and we will go over the items released by the county as examples of the questions they will see. Grades will be updated this week, and we will take care of anything missing or anything that needs to be retaken. Please let me know if you have any questions!

Advanced Social Studies (Miller): Next week we are taking our SS final exam. All study materials are available on Canvas. It has been an absolute honor getting to teach your children this year! I hope you all have an amazing, safe, and restful summer.

Social Studies: 6th grade social studies has finished all of our units for this year. We are currently reviewing for finals. We encourage all students to spend a few minutes every night reviewing for finals next week! 😊

We have completed all standards and have been reviewing for the final. Please encourage your child to look over the study guide and ask for help if needed! Only 5 more days and you will have 8th graders!!!

Advanced ELA with Mrs.Cawley

As we wrap up another school year, I want to wish all of my ELA students the very best of luck on finals! I am so proud of the hard work, growth, and creativity you’ve shown this year. Finish strong, do your best, and remember how much progress you’ve made. I hope everyone has a fun summer filled with great memories (and maybe even a good book or two!).

8th Grade Field Day:

The 8th grade field day is Thursday, May 21st. Please dress accordingly to be outside all day and getting wet. Bring a towel and change of clothes.

All ELA Classes: The students have done amazing work this year and are well prepared for their finals next week and all the literary adventures they will encounter in high school! Thanks for a wonderful year!

Science:

Our physical science students are wrapping up the year by showing what they’ve learned on their final exam. They’ve explored everything from the states of matter to physical and chemical changes, so they’re well prepared to “rise to the occasion” (just like a gas!). Encourage your student to review key concepts, get a good night’s sleep, and come ready to react positively. We’re confident they’ll do a fantastic job, no pressure, just solid science! Orange & Yellow classes will take the Physical Science Final on Monday, 5/18. Green & Red classes will take the Physical Science Final on Tuesday, 5/19. Blue class will take the Physical Science Final on Wednesday 5/20.

ADV Science:

Congratulations families! We've made it to the end of the year! Thank you for sharing your wonderful children with me! They have all been a pleasure to teach this year!

Math:

As we wrap up the school year, students will be finishing with their Math Final. It has truly been a joy teaching and getting to know your student(s) this year. Thank you for your support, encouragement, and partnership throughout the year. We are so proud of all the growth and hard work we have seen, and we wish your family a wonderful summer!

Georgia Studies:

Thank you for a wonderful year in Georgia Studies. We hope you learned some new and interesting things about our state and that you enter high school ready to be a world changer! As we learned in Georgia Studies, people can have a big impact on society, whether good or bad. Choose to be the change you want to see in the world!
