MORNING CARLINE
All students (except PreK and Mrs. Bargas's class) will enter through the front entrance. The side door for 3rd-5th will not be open for student drop-off. Please pull all the way forward to the nearest safety patrol spot when arriving. We will add 3-4 Safety Patrol members to the front entrance to help students safely exit their cars upon arrival.
VISITORS - Visitors to Farley must enter through the front entrance and pass through the OpenGate system.
LATE ARRIVALS - Students arriving late will check-in normally and go through the weapons detector. Parents will not need to pass through the OpenGate system unless they are visiting the school.
CHECK-OUTS & DROPPING OFF BELONGINGS - no changes unless parents are visiting.
AFTERNOON CARLINE - no changes

Farley's Report Card Score
The Alabama State Department of Education recently released School Report Card scores and Farley Elementary was awarded a 94!!! This score represents a multi-year trend of improvement in Academic Achievement and a significant reduction in the percentage of students who are considered Chronically Absent. The three-year trends are visualized below:
Attendance
Parents may excuse only 8 days for the entire school year.
Parents - remember that excuse notes must be submitted promptly. The HCS expectation is that within 3 days, a parent or doctor's note is submitted to the school. After 8 excused absences (not individual notes), students must have a doctor's note. A student checked out before 11:30AM is considered absent unless they check back in.
Farley Elementary's Chronic Absenteeism rate is around 6%, which lower than our surrounding schools. However, when schools receive their Report Card scores, 15% of the total grade is based on the percentage of students who are Chronically Absent. We lost one point on our Report Card Grade. I would like to get that point back this year, which means our CA rate needs to be less than 3%.
Chronic Absenteeism is defined as a student missing 18 or more days for the school year, regardless of reason.
