GRANT BOWL CLOSED
Lighting Installation and Temporary Field Closure at Grant Bowl
Next week will be a historic one for the Grant Bowl as field lights are installed! Following the successful completion of utility and site preparation this week, the project will move into the light pole installation.
Field Closure: There will be no public access to the field starting Monday, April 20 and lasting about a week. Schedules are subject to change.
Unauthorized personnel must not cross construction barriers or fencing. Entering the active work zone poses a significant safety risk and may result in costly project delays. We have already experienced several instances of the temporary fencing being torn down, causing delays.
Access to the field via the southeast entrance will be restored after the full closure. Fencing around the rest of the field will remain as crews finish up final tasks. The field will be open for planned athletic events.
Work to prepare the lights for operation is expected to continue through mid-May. Construction schedules are subject to change.
See Athletic Facility Upgrades for regular project updates.

Grant Students Earn Top Honors in Statewide Stock Market Game
Grant High School students have achieved outstanding success in the 2025β2026 year-long session of The Stock Market Game, sponsored by the SIFMA Foundation and the Oregon Council on Economic Education.
Two Grant teams placed at the top of the High School Division:
- First Place: "Investing Vruz": Israel Tesfamariam, August Augustaf and Bennett Ferguson
- Third Place: "GOAT Investors": Zander Stultz-Bruggeman, Case Moran-Kuhn, Sawyer Brakken, Nat Weiner
These results highlight studentsβ strong skills in investing, financial decision-making, and teamwork through a real-world stock market simulation which are key components of Grantβs Career and Technical Education (CTE) Business courses.
Both teams will be recognized at the Oregon Council on Economic Educationβs awards event in Spring 2026.
Congratulations to our students on this impressive achievement!
We are looking for several PPS approved volunteers to help at our Junior/Senior Prom coming up on Saturday, April 25th @ 7pm at McMenamins Crystal Ballroom.
The Crystal Ballroom is a fabulous location and has several areas that will need supervising. There are multiple rooms on multiple floors of the venue which will require several volunteers. We only ask that you observe and report anything that needs attention. We will have several administrators and campus safety associates onsite to handle any issues. This really is a fun event to volunteer at. Feel free to dress up if you want! Old Hollywood is the theme.
We will be needing approximately 25 chaperones for the evening, checking in at 6:15 PM.

Weβd like to recognize a few individuals whose contributions truly stand out.
Dianne Copper for her dedication as our personal "Copy Queen". She comes in every school day to help teachers and staff with copies, mail and so many other important tasks. She keeps Grant going.
Coach Sandy McDaniel for her leadership and commitment to our Menβs Volleyball program and all of her work with the PTSA. Your efforts make a meaningful difference in the daily lives of our students. Those are just a couple and we know that the strength of Grant comes from the collective support of so many volunteers. Whether you're helping in classrooms, supporting events, coaching, organizing, or lending a hand wherever it's needed, your impact is deeply felt and sincerely appreciated.
