The Sheiko Weekly Update

Dear Sheiko Families,

I am so thankful for our incredible students, dedicated staff, and supportive families. As we enter the holiday season, I hope you are able to slow down, savor the moments, and make special memories together. Please remember to keep reading and, set aside some learning time on IXL over the break.

This week’s Big Announcement is Moonbeams for Sweet Dreams. We hope you’ll join us this Saturday at 7:45 p.m. at Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak as we come together to lift the spirits of children receiving care. I will be there with a Sheiko sign so we can stand together in support.

If you have never attended, it is a truly moving experience and a powerful way for our students to learn about giving back and supporting others in need. 💜

Join us for Moonbeams for Sweet Dreams – Sheiko Elementary Night at Corewell Health William Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak on Saturday, December 20th at 7:45 PM.

Bring your flashlights and help light up the windows to bring smiles and sweet dreams to the kids in the hospital.

It’s a simple, meaningful way to show our Sheiko love and support our community. We’d love to see our families there!

These students were “Caught Caring” by teachers and staff members. They got a certificate and a motivational bracelet, and they got to parade around the hallway while the entire school clapped them out! Way to go Sheiko leaders!

Congratulations to the Laker of the Month, Tori Demmith, Building Substitute here at Sheiko Elementary. Nominated by Blaine McDowell, Tori is a dependable, compassionate presence who steps in wherever needed to support students and staff. Her patience, positivity, and care help every child feel safe, valued, and supported. Thank you, Tori, for making Sheiko a stronger, more welcoming place each day.

Congratualtions to Eleza for winning this years UNITED WE WALK button design contest. Eleza's design was chosen over 150 applicants and is the 1st in Sheiko history to win this amazing honor.

Hello Amazing Parents & Guardians of Sheiko Elementary:

Your child was given the list of words this week for the Spelling Bee that will take place next month. Classroom teachers will inform you when their classroom Spelling Bee will take place.

Please make sure that your child does practice his/her appropriate grade level words to prepare for the Spelling Bee. The additional word lists were given to each student just in case the class runs out of words during the Spelling Bee and must use additional words.
