K-2 Chromebooks
As you may know, when we experience inclement weather, our school may shift to an eLearning day. On those days, students may be required to log in at specific times to join class meetings. Over the past few weeks, our K–2 students have been practicing how to access Google Classroom, check assignments, and join Google Meets with their teacher so they are prepared.
Starting this week, K–2 students will begin bringing their school-issued devices home each day in their backpacks. This ensures they are ready in case we have an unexpected eLearning day. We are asking for your help with a few important reminders:
Devices are learning tools, not toys. Please remind your child that devices should stay in backpacks unless it is an official eLearning day.
Battery care. If the device stays unused in the backpack, the charge should last through an eLearning day. For multiple days, devices can be charged with any standard USB-C charger (such as newer iPhone and most electronic device chargers).
Handle with care. Please encourage your child to treat their backpack gently while the device is inside and to avoid placing liquids in the same compartment as the device. We have provided an oversized bag for the Chromebook to help mitigate this.
Thank you for your support in helping us keep devices safe and ready for learning. If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to your child’s teacher or to the office.
