Robotics at State!

Robotics made school history! This is the second time they have qualified for the State Tournament, but the first time they have attended in person! The last time they qualified was during the pandemic in 2020 where teams had to compete virtually.

The PC Golden Pirates robotics program concluded a successful season at the FIRST Tech Challenge State Tournament, highlighted by the Marooned Golden Pirates earning second place for the REACH Award in community outreach. Individual excellence was also on display as Chris Onipede of the Skeleton Crew team secured one of only two statewide Stratasys coding scholarships for his programming skills.

MATILDA The Musical
Book by DENNIS KELLY
Music & Lyrics by TIM MINCHIN
Orchestrations and Additional Music – Chris Nightingale

Matilda is a little girl with astonishing wit, intelligence and psychokinetic powers. She's unloved by her cruel parents but impresses her schoolteacher Miss Honey. During her first term at school, the two forge a bond as Miss Honey begins to recognize and appreciate Matilda's extraordinary personality. Matilda's school life isn't completely smooth sailing, however – the school's mean headmistress, Miss Trunchbull, hates children and just loves to punish those who don't abide by her rules. But Matilda has courage and cleverness in equal amounts, and could be the school pupils' saving grace!

Community Service Varsity Letter

Osseo Area Schools is pleased to announce that all district high schools will begin offering a varsity letter for community service beginning this spring. This new opportunity was created by students to recognize and celebrate sustained, meaningful service to our schools and broader community. This community service varsity letter is designed to be accessible to all students, provide multiple pathways to serve, and honor the impact students make when they commit their time, skills, and leadership to causes they care about.

Park Center is Taking the (Polar) Plunge! ⛄ Park Center is Taking the (Polar) Plunge! ⛄

On March 11, 2026 we will be participating in the MN tradition of a cold water plunge! The Cool School Mobile Plunge gives schools the opportunity to rally around inclusion while participating in a unique and wildly fun fundraiser!

The concept is simple: staff and students register and fundraise money for both Special Olympics Minnesota and their school, teams, clubs or groups. In the process, participants earn awesome rewards and get the chance to jump into freezing cold water. The day of the event, Special Olympics MN will bring the Polar Plunge directly to Park Center with the Plungester, a custom-designed mobile Plunge pool!

Students, Staff, Teams, & Clubs will learn more information in the first weeks of January to register & fundraise. Students under 18 will need their parent/guardian’s permission to participate. We would love to have community members join us! This is also an opportunity to have community businesses & sponsors get involved!

WALLIN 2-YEAR SCHOLARSHIPS

The Wallin Education Partners 2-Year Program application opened February 13, 2026 and closes April 24, 2026. There are multiple pathways to receive a scholarship. The Opportunity Pathway for students that plan to attend one of the MN partner community colleges (up to $6,000.)The Construction Pathway (up to $35,000) for students pursuing a career in construction with Mortenson or Ryan who plan to attend Dunwoody College of Technology as part of the 2-Year Program. In addition to financial support, scholarship winners receive advising and professional support to help navigate college, as well as access to college-to-career programs, internships and other opportunities. Sign up to attend a Mini-Session in the CRC to learn more about the Wallin 2-Year Scholarship.

COLLEGE FINANCIAL AID OFFERS

After completing the FAFSA, you will receive a financial aid award letter from the colleges to which you have been accepted. Financial aid award letters can be confusing. So how do you figure out what college will actually cost? Scoir suggests considering at these 4 components:

  1. Yearly costs, such as tuition, fees, books, room and board, travel, etc

  2. Financial aid that you don’t have to pay back (scholarships, grants, work-study)

  3. Financial aid you DO need to pay back (federal loans)

  4. What’s left after accounting for the above 3 items? That is the amount you will need to pay out of pocket.

One thing to consider is that some grants and scholarships are not offered every year. Also, work-study is not a guarantee. To learn more about reading financial aid award letters, students should sign up to attend a Mini-Session in the CRC.

ICATT APPRENTICESHIPS

The Industry Consortium for Advanced Technical Training (ICATT) is the leading apprenticeship program for high-tech manufacturers. The ICATT works with local companies such as Buhler, J&E Manufacturing, KEB America, Kobra Molds, PAR Systems, Sonic Packaging and Turck to train future employees. ICATT Apprentices gain hands-on experience while working at one of these companies and attending classes at Hennepin Technical College (HTC). Apprentices earn a living wage and receive a debt-free associate degree. More than 85% of ICATT apprentices complete the apprenticeship program. There are virtual opportunities to participate in an ICATT Info Session - check the Events page.
