Safety Drills
At DuJardin, the safety and well-being of our students and staff are our top priorities. At the start of each school year, we practice various safety drills to ensure students know exactly what to do and understand expectations in the event of an emergency. Because these are standard yearly routines, we typically do not send individual notices for routine practices.
However, state guidelines require that parents have the option to opt their child(ren) out of participating in our annual Intruder/Lockdown Drill. This year's Intruder/Lockdown Drill is scheduled for Thursday, October 1, 2026. If you would prefer that your child(ren) not participate in this specific drill, please send an email directly to the principal by Wednesday at 3:00 PM. Students who are opted out will be provided with an alternative, supportive activity during the brief drill duration.
Thank you for your continued partnership in keeping our school community safe, prepared, and supported!
Picture Day on Wednesday, September 30th
Say goodbye to paper order forms and prepaying upfront! School Picture Day will look a little different this year, and we think you’re going to love it.
You don't need to do anything ahead of time except make sure your child comes to school feeling confident and looking stylish on Picture Day!
Color Portraits will take your child’s photograph and email a direct, secure link to you as soon as the proofs are ready to view. Once you receive the link, you can browse the photos online and order only the prints or digital packages you like best.
Picture Day is on Wednesday, September 30th—we can’t wait to see those Jaguar smiles!
Curriculum Night! on Thursday, October 1st
Mark your calendars! DuJardin Curriculum Night will take place on Thursday, October 1st, from 6:00 PM – 7:30 PM. This event is designed specifically for parents to learn about grade-level curriculum, classroom expectations, and goals for the upcoming school year.
To accommodate families with multiple students, we will offer two identical presentation sessions:
Session 1: 6:00 PM – 6:40 PM
Session 2: 6:50 PM – 7:40 PM
In-between sessions, please feel free to stop by and visit with our specialist teachers, related service personnel, and support staff.
Kindergarten will only have one session at 6:00 PM. The kindergarten room will be available from 6:40 PM - 8:00 PM for any parents interested in viewing the remodeled space.
Donations & Fundraising Efforts
At DuJardin, we know that the school calendar can sometimes feel full of different fundraisers, donation drives, and community events—especially during certain busy times of the year. We completely understand that these simultaneous requests can feel overwhelming, and we want you to know that we are always mindful of the demands placed on our school families.
While we strive to balance these initiatives, we also view each opportunity as a powerful way to support our school, uplift those in need, and model meaningful values for our students. Participating in these efforts helps our students experience firsthand the importance of generosity, empathy, and coming together as a community.
Please know that every contribution—whether it’s donating, volunteering, or simply encouraging your child—is deeply appreciated, but participation in any given drive is always entirely optional. We are so grateful for your continued partnership, understanding, and dedication to making DuJardin a caring place for all of our students!
Go Orange or pink, or purple, or brown
Next week is our annual Go Orange event where we encourage all students to bring in canned goods or non-perishable food items throughout the week to donate to the Bloomingdale Food Pantry. It is color week in kindergarten, so wear the color of the day and donate to those in need.
Every donation stays local to help fight hunger and support families right here in our community—let’s show our Jaguars spirit and fill the collection bins!
Want to earn a GO ORANGE brag tag? Bring in 5 canned good items or non perishable food items (at the same time) and get a Go Orange brag tag. Bring to the office to get your BRAG TAG!!!
PTO Fall Fundraiser
Students should come home today with a PTO Fall Fundraiser packet. We thank all parents for helping fundraise to support students and staff at DuJardin. Kids can sell items and earn prizes and keychains. There are a couple of pages in the packet that share info about what kids can earn. Click here to view the most important pages. The PTO Fall Fundraiser ends October 14, 2026.
Spirit Day, Jaguar Dens, & School Store on Friday
This Friday is Spirit Day, Jaguar Dens, & School Store! We used to hold our Jaguar Dens on Early Release Fridays, but with the shift to weekly Early Release days, we selected Spirit Day as our opportunity to come together in cross grade level teams. The School Store is also open and students can bring money to purchase items. Most items at the school store cost around $1.00.

Student Needs:
Please inform the nurse of any allergies or sensitivities to foods, medications, and environmental allergens.
