May 2025
Principal's Corner
We are entering a very busy time of year at EVS. Spring has arrived and we are hoping for warmer weather. May brings a trip to the high school to watch the IRS performance of The Little Mermaid, our New Hampshire Dance Institute Week and our standardized testing weeks. There are a number of scheduling changes and adjustments to accommodate these things. Please be sure to let the office know if your student will be absent, leaving early or have a different way to go home so we can plan accordingly.
EVS Jog-a-thon
Mr. Jones, PE and the EVSPTA would like to congratulate all the students who did amazing on Friday April 11, 2025's first annual Jog-a-thon! Mr. Jones has diligently counted all the tick marks on the many popsicles sticks and have tallied the results:

2nd - Simpson
3rd - Shellhammer
4th - Greene
TOTAL LAPS BY GRADE:

The Jog-a-thon has raised $660.00 towards DHMC's CHaD and the EVSPTA will be matching those funds towards EVS support. Winning classes can choose either a pizza party or ice cream party sponsored by the PTA for Friday May 2.
Congratulations to all for a wonderful event!

New Hampshire Dance Institute is back!
We have the great pleasure of partnering with NHDI for a week long residency. A residency with the New Hampshire Dance Institute will draw our school together as a community and celebrate the joy that comes when the hard work of practice leads to the gratification of performance. With a focus to empower, enrich and energize students through dance, the NHDI Method employs social-emotional learning techniques to increase self-esteem, create a collaborative team atmosphere and help students set and reach daily goals.
Our residency will take place May 5 - 9 during specials time at school. Students should come to school everyday wearing comfortable clothing and sneakers for practicing.
On Friday, May 9th, our students will practice at the high school on stage at 9:00 am (buses will load at 8:30 am) and will perform for families at Mascoma High School in the Auditorium starting at 6:00 pm. Reminders and schedules will be sent out as we get closer to the performance.
Please find the T-Shirt order form linked here. We will begin taking preorders for T-Shirts on Monday, May 5, 2025. You can print the form and send it in to your child's teacher.
NH SAS Testing
As many of you know, every spring we are required to have our Grades 3 & 4 students take the NH SAS test in Reading, Writing and Math. I have attached the letter from the NH Department of Education. Classes will be testing starting May 13 and will finish on May 23.
