Dear Mustang Families,

The end of each quarter brings one of our favorite traditions at Moseley: Student of the Quarter! Every staff member gets to select a student who stands out to them for the way they live into our RIDE beliefs, and we ask them to give thoughtful consideration to the student who has made a positive impression on them. (Take a peek at the APs with their Students of the Quarter above!)

Over the past year and a quarter of Moseley’s existence, we have loved seeing the many different reasons our staff members choose their students. Some are students who might otherwise fly under the radar, quietly and consistently doing what is expected of them. Others have made grand gestures of care for their peers. Some have shown remarkable growth, whether in the classroom or in the way they navigate relationships and challenges. There is no single way to stand out, and that is part of what makes these celebrations so special.

It is a joy to recognize the big moments and the small, everyday choices that make our campus a better place.

As we sent our Mustangs off for fall break this week, we were grateful to do so with smiles, celebrations, and reminders of all the good happening in our school community. We hope our entire Moseley family enjoys some well-deserved rest and returns ready to kick off the second quarter!

Let's RIDE! 🐎

Meet: Saanvitha A

Riding With: 6th Grade

Being Seen: Saanvitha is making her mark at Moseley! This week, she received more Minga praises from staff members than any other student on campus. What an accomplishment for one of our sixth-grade Mustangs! As our sixth graders continue finding their place and discovering what it means to belong at Moseley, Saanvitha is already showing us what it looks like to live into our RIDE beliefs and thrive in our Mustang community. We are so proud of the way she is showing up each day and making a positive impression on the people around her. Keep shining, Saanvitha!

Let’s give it up for our Player of the Game for 7th grade vs Hays MS, Carter Bueltel!!! Carter had one heck of a game Tuesday night. He scored on two long TD runs, caught a long TD, and threw one TD Tuesday night. He even got close to scoring on a long interception return for a TD. Way to represent Moseley Middle School. Go Mustangs!!!

Meet: Ms. Campbell-Burnom

Riding With: 7th Grade Science

The Adult Constant: Ms. Campbell-Burnom serves on our Guiding Coalition, helping shape the work of our school to ensure all students have the opportunity to learn at high levels. She is also one of our mentor teachers, supporting the growth and development of her fellow educators.

This week, Ms. Campbell-Burnom stood out when several of our mentor teachers recommended that their mentees visit her classroom to learn from her approach to building a strong classroom community. She does a wonderful job of centering positive relationships with students while maintaining high expectations that encourage them to grow and be their best. She reminds us that strong relationships and high expectations go hand in hand.

We are grateful for the way Ms. Campbell-Burnom invests in both students and colleagues, sharing her expertise and helping make Moseley a place where everyone has the opportunity to thrive.

My Favorite Thing About Moseley: My favorite thing about our school is the intentional leadership, the diversity of ideas and people, and the positive atmosphere on campus. I love being a part of a community where leadership is purposeful, different perspectives are valued, and people are encouraged to grow and work together. The culture here makes it a special place to work, and I appreciate being surrounded by people who are committed to making a difference in the lives of our students.
