Principal's Note Principal's Note

Dear MMES Families,

Wow! What an incredible opening night for our Fifth Graders in "Willy Wonka Jr.!" Mrs. Garafolo and her team of staff and parent helpers have worked tirelessly alongside the Grade 5 students from MMES and EES to put on an incredible performance! This annual tradition is such a great way for our students to learn about themselves and their classmates while making new friends! The talent and courage that they find throughout this process is just priceless!

If you didn't have a chance to see the show yesterday, there are two more shows: 6PM tonight and 6PM tomorrow night. Thank you for supporting our students and congratulations to all!

Have a great weekend!

Best,

John

A new session of after school activities has started. Please help us to get your students where they need to be after school by updating pick up patrol for ALL changes to dismissal - Park & Rec programs, Green Team, Ambassadors. You can use the notes section to give additional details. Dismissal should be updated for each week that your student has an after school activity.

Thank you for your help.

Math Coach Tips! Math Coach Tips!

Did you know that playing fun card games and board games can improve your child’s numeracy? Here are a few popular family games and how they can help your child build important mathematical skills:

  • Uno- number identification

  • Mancala- counting

  • Dominoes and any game with a dot dice- subitizing (seeing small groups of numbers without counting)

  • Guess Who?- reasoning, logic

  • Battleship and checkers- spatial awareness

  • Monopoly- arithmetic and working with money

Next time you have family game night, enjoy knowing that your child is having fun and also growing as a mathematician!
