Happy May to all our CFK Families! It’s hard to believe we are at the end of the school year! And what an amazing school year it has been! We have had so much fun working with all of you and your kiddos throughout the year at all our different events! A BIG thanks to all of you for all of the help & volunteering and we look forward to next year with all of you! We hope everyone has a great summer!

  • Field Day Fun: We were able to provide all students with colorful wristbands, headbands, gold medals and popsicles for Field Day this year! It was a great day with lots of fun games and good sportsmanship shown! Thanks to the Field Day Committee for all their hard work and PTA was happy to support them.

  • April Teacher Treat: We were able to spoil all our teachers/staff with a luncheon after all the Field Day Festivities. They were able to pick and choose from a variety of deli trays, wraps, veggies & dips, pizza rolls and desserts. We hoped it was a nice treat & a chance to relax for a few minutes after a fun Field Day!

  • Military Child Appreciation Month: PTA was happy to provide some fun snacks throughout the month to our Military children as they met with Mrs. Minkel for their “April Chat & Chew!” We fully support you all and your families and a fun treat is the least we can do for our Military students!

  • PTA was very happy to contribute coffee and creamers for Principal Appreciation Day on Friday, May 1st! We loved getting to help spoil Mrs. Agee & our staff, and we hope they all enjoyed the coffee treats & adorable “Ageebucks Coffee” cups made by the teacher committee.

  • Our Book-vending machine: We love watching the students pick their books! It is something all the students look forward to when their birthday comes around (or when we work in the summer birthdays). Remember you can always donate towards the Book Vending Machine fund on our PTA storefront.

  • Remember you can always sign up to become a PTA member and support the PTA. Reach out to cfkpta@gmail.com with any questions. Givebacks

  • Show your school spirit- School t-shirts (short and long sleeve) are available for purchase online. Please visit our CFK Storefront to purchase spirit wear. CFK Storefront Remember, spirit wear can be worn on uniform days.

Dear CFK/CFKN Parents and Students,

I am so excited about our summer reading challenge! We know that students reading over the summer will limit the dreaded “summer slide.” We wanted to give you a fun way to keep up those reading skills and build some knowledge for your upcoming year.

Here is how it works. Look at the Summer Literacy Bingo Card you received at the end of the year. There are multiple ways for you to engage in reading over the summer. As you complete a box, parents will initial that box. In the fall, you will return your card to your teacher by August 14, 2026. Below is a list of ways you can earn rewards for engaging in this fun summer reading initiative.

  • 5 in a row-Your name entered into a drawing for a $25.00 gift certificate to our Fall Book Fair. There will be a winner from each campus for the gift certificate.

  • Each additional 5 in a row- Your name will be entered that many times for a drawing for Tales the Literacy Leopard Stuffed Animal. There will be a winner from each campus. (example: 2 sets of 5 in a row= 2 entries, 3 sets=3 entries, etc.)

  • Whole card complete-You will receive an invite to our Summer Reading Celebration in the fall!

Bingo Cards for each grade level:

Rising 5th Summer Reading Bingo Card

Rising 4th Summer Reading Bingo Card

Rising 3rd Summer Reading Bingo Card

Rising 2nd Summer Reading Bingo Card

Rising 1st Summer Reading Bingo Card

Also, check out the summer reading challenge going on at the Richland County Public Library at https://www.richlandlibrary.com/summer-learning-challenge (Dates are May 30- August 8, 2026)

Reading will take you to all kinds of places, so make sure you keep reading over the summer.

Your Reading Coach,

Mrs. Shivley and Tales too!

The Military Student Chat & Chews led by Mrs. Minkel (School Counselor) were such a fun way to celebrate the Month of the Military Child! Students engaged in conversation topics around being a military child, played military themed bingo, and enjoyed a snack/treat each week. We loved recognizing all the resilience and bravery it takes being part of a military family!

Check out Mrs. Minkel's Counselor's Corner Website for more information and resources!
