First and foremost, I give thanks for all of you. As we enter this season of gratitude, I am reminded daily how fortunate we are to have such committed families, resilient scholars, and a community that stands with us as we work to Get Booker Better, Faster. Your partnership truly means everything.

🐾 MOY Testing Week: A Success Worth Celebrating!

We kicked off the week with a few challenges—returning from Thanksgiving Break and battling cold weather led to 103 absences, our highest this year. But Bengals, you turned it around! Attendance improved tremendously throughout the week, and because of that:

✨ We only have 5 make-ups left in Pre-K through 5th grade — incredibly impressive!
✨ Many of our scholars MET or were very close to meeting their growth goals!
✨ Every student who attended and worked hard during testing earned daily incentives!
✨ Teachers celebrated class achievements on Friday, and we could not be prouder.

Booker Bengals showed up, stayed focused, and put forth their very best. We are beyond proud of the growth, determination, and grit displayed this week.

Families—please reach out to your child’s teacher to learn how your scholar performed so you can celebrate their progress at home. Every step forward is a GREAT step toward success. Our team is now analyzing individual student results and preparing for our Growth Goal Party to honor scholars who demonstrated strong effort and achievement.

📚 Every Day Counts. Every Minute Matters.

As we head into the final stretch before Winter Break, please help us keep the momentum strong by ensuring:

• Daily attendance, on time and ready to learn

• Minimized early pick-ups, especially during core instruction

• Rested, focused scholars prepared to give their best

These remaining days matter. One missed hour can mean a missed skill—and every skill builds our scholars’ confidence and academic success.

Dear Parents and Guardians,

Beginning December 9, 2025, students in 3rd - 5th, will participate in the district’s STAAR Interim testing! These tests help gauge student progress on the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS) and allow teachers to better support your child’s progress with preparing for the STAAR assessment in the spring semester! Through targeted instruction, reteach, and interventions, all students are expected to make a year or more worth of growth and perform on the Meets or Masters level!

All assessments will be administered online, and the testing window will run for two days!

Digital accommodations are available within the online platform based on individual student needs.

STATE LAW - HELP US HELP YOUR CHILD WHILE AT SCHOOL!

In accordance with Senate Bill 12 (SB 12), parents now must opt in to allowing their child to be seen in the school clinic during the school day.

Please note that if you do not choose to opt in:

• Your child may only be seen in the clinic for emergency situations.

• Regular or non-emergency visits to the nurse (such as headaches, stomachaches, minor scrapes, or other routine concerns) will not be allowed.

• You will be contacted to pick up your child for non-emergency situations.

• screenings like eyesight, hearing, and scoliosis can not be performed.

We urge you to carefully consider this decision, as opting out significantly limits our ability to support your child’s health needs during the school day.

Booker Families,

We love celebrating our Bengals! To ensure we honor birthdays while protecting valuable instructional time, please remember the following:

✅ Birthday celebrations are limited to 15 minutes
✅ Cupcakes and boxed juice only
❌ No pizza or full meals please
✅ Cupcakes must be store-bought, sealed, and labeled
✅ Please drop items off before 12:00 PM or send with your child (car riders may bring treats in the morning)

With classes of up to 24 students, we must keep celebrations brief so our students can continue learning and thriving. Our goal is to make birthdays special without interrupting instruction — thank you for partnering with us!

We appreciate your support and understanding as we keep our Bengals focused, learning, and growing! 🐾💙

Students are not allowed to have any electronic devices or cellphones on or out during the instructional day. Any student violating this policy will be assigned a consequence.

The mySpringISD portal provides an easy platform for staff and families, where they can access all of their digital resources, including Schoology and the Home Access Center. The single sign-on option gives parents, students and staff instant access to all their online resources from any device and any location.

To get started, log on to my.springisd.org, and sign in by using your parent Spring ISD network login username and password.

• Your 2022 Bond Money at Work: Thanks to the 2022 Bond, Booker has recevied bullet proof windows and transaction trays installed and upgrades to our camera and WiFi system.
