Hello November!

November is quickly passing us by, and we have many things going on at Phelps. Tonight is our PAC Meeting from 6-7 in the Phelps Library. Tomorrow is Picture Retake Day for those students who were absent or those who want their picture retaken. Please see the instructions below regarding Picture Retake Day. We are collecting money to help local families at Thanksgiving time until this Friday, November 15. From November 15 to December 15, Phelps Student Council is coordinating a coat drive to collect new or used coats (in good condition) in both adult and children's sizes. There are many ways we can teach our students to give back during this month.

In addition, report cards will be available to families on November 21. This will be followed by Parent Conferences which will take place on November 25 & 26. Sign up information will be sent out tomorrow morning, Wednesday, November 13. Thanksgiving Break will take place November 27-29, with school back in session on Monday, December 2. Looking forward to seeing you all at conferences. Have a wonderful week!

Parent Conference Sign Ups Begin Tomorrow

Please be on the lookout for a parent conference sign up link that will be sent to all families tomorrow, Wednesday, November 13. We will be using the same automated system that has been used for the past several years. Just as a reminder, parent conferences will be taking place on Monday, November 25 from 12:00-2:00 pm and 5:30-7:30 pm, and Tuesday, November 26 from 12:00-2:00 pm. Both days will be early release for all Phelps Elementary students at 10:45 am.

Project Turkey Feathers

A flyer from the Phelps Elementary School PAC was sent home last week. We would like to support a few local families by raising money to purchase turkey dinners for Thanksgiving for them. For every 50 cents donated, a feather will be added to the turkey in your child's pod. The pod with the most turkey feathers will get a prize from the PAC. The money will be used to purchase turkeys and the fixings for local families in need. You can send in coins, cash, or checks made out to Memorial Park PAC. Thank you for helping out families at the holidays.

Phelps Early Release Days 10:45 Dismissal

During our last early release day, October 17, we had several students who were not picked up at the 10:45 dismissal, and some were brought back to the school because there was no adult at the bus stop. Please note that early release days are listed in important events below for the coming months and also in the district calendar below.

Save Those Coats! Coat Drive Begins on Friday!

As you clean out your closets and bins for the cold weather season, please save any coats (both adult or children's sizes) that are in good condition to donate to our coat drive, which will take place November 15-December 15, 2024. It is our hope to collect and donate many coats to those who are in need of them this season. Our Grade 4 Student Council will be in charge of coordinating this event. It will be a House Competition to see which Phelps House can donate the most coats for those in need. Thank you for searching your closets and bins!

Dismissal Reminders--Carline & Family Walk-Up

Phelps Elementary School dismissal is at 2:00 pm. On Early Release Days, dismissal is at 10:45 am. Our carline and family walk up scanners will scan for pick up until 2:05 pm on regular release days, and until 10:50 am on early release days. If you are later than our scanning times, please plan to park your car and ring the main office to dismiss your child. Thank you!
