Lakeview Lecture
February Edition
From the Principal...
It's great news that "Phil" the groundhog reportedly did not see his shadow on Groundhog's day, which implies an early spring is coming! If the weather the past week is any indication, he might be onto something! It has been great to be able to be outside the past couple weeks. If we get another dose of good snow, we have the snowshoes prepped and ready to go. Watch for information about a family snowshoe night if the weather cooperates.
February is going to be a busy month as you can see from the calendar. We have Valentine's day, school counselor appreciation week, a 2nd/3rd grade field trip, and are hosting Kohl's Wild Theater for two events. Not to mention Battle of the Books (B.O.B) competition and Band-o-Rama! All great opportunities for our students to learn and stay engaged in school events.
Report cards were sent home on Feb 1, which provides you with a snapshot of how your child is doing academically in each subject. If you have questions feel free to reach out or bring your questions to P/T conferences. We have parent-teacher conferences scheduled for February 21 and 22. If you have questions about your child's scheduled time, please reach out to the teacher. We have lots of information to share about your child's progress this year.
In addition to the report card that was sent home, you should have also received a letter providing you with some information of our upcoming changes with Literacy instruction and resources. The district is committed to providing the staff and students with the highest quality materials and we are going to have the opportunity to pilot them the second half of the year.
As always, thank you for partnering with us to provide a great educational experience for your child! If you need anything, please don't hesitate to reach out.
