Greetings!

My name is Autumn Sawyer. This year, I will be your 4th or 5th grade FLEX teacher this year.

I have been teaching for a little over 11 years, as of this year. I started as a Montessori teacher and moved in to the charter world when a charter Montessori was opened. Later, I made my way to ARVA to being my journey as a virtual teacher.

I love the processes of learning/teaching and watching pedagogy unfold. My specialty is in teaching reading, especially for struggling readers and dyslexia. I look forward to celebrating our growth this coming school year with you and your families.

Personal Goals:

To read "The Proust and the Squid", and to finish "Girl of Limberlost."

To finish a Masters in Psychology and pursuer School Psych PhD by the end of next year.

This was new information to myself and other parents. I just want to be sure that this is communicated and everyone is aware of how :Banked Days" Work.

1) You acquire a banked day by having your student work 20 min in the OLS in a CORE SUBJECT, on a SCHOOL CLOSED DAY. (meaning weekends and holidays)

2) "Banked days" are by semester only! (Meaning, you acquire them in a semester you have to use them in THAT SEMESTER)

3) They must be used, for you to acquire more days banked.

4) Banked days are only considered "banked" if your student does not have any days missed. If they have days missed, then the day worked on a school closed day zeros out a day. (Day for a Day)

5) Please read thorough this 2-3 times, as this can be confusing if you just scan it.

I advise that LC's start marking on calendars days missed and days made up to help track these days. This could get confusing real fast if not.
