Estimadas familias de James John,
Nuestra iniciativa de ruta segura ha comenzado. Esta semana se colocaron conos en las calles en Leonard St. para señalar un cierre de carretera para nuestros autobuses al dejar a 7:30 a 8:10 a. m. y al recogerlos de 2:00 a 2:35 p. m. (vea las imágenes a continuación) . Gracias a todos por ayudarnos a mantener las calles de nuestra escuela seguras para nuestros niños.
Durante la pasada noche de la PTA, discutimos los cambios en las calles que ocurrirán alrededor del perímetro del edificio de nuestra escuela y los patios de recreo, particularmente en Charleston St y en nuestro "James John Driveway" - John St. y Kellogg St.
A medida que comenzamos a cambiar nuestro enfoque para mejorar la seguridad en John St. y Kellogg St., necesitaremos la ayuda de adultos. Si está interesado en ayudar, visite la oficina para obtener más información. Si bien la próxima información parece temprana, creo que nunca podremos prepararnos demasiado.Quería comenzar e informar a las familias sobre los cambios que entrarán en vigencia en nuestro año escolar 2024/25. El próximo año escolar será quince (15) minutos más, lo que significa que la salida será a las 2:30 pm. El horario de entrega y el inicio de clases seguirán siendo los mismos, el desayuno a las 7:45 am y la escuela comenzará a las 8:00 am en punto. Otro cambio serán los días de salida temprana, que serán una vez al mes para que los estudiantes permitan la capacitación y planificación de los maestros (pronto habrá más información), pero si tiene curiosidad, aquí hay un enlace a Calendario 2024-25 en Español.
Es extraño decirlo, pero ya estoy entusiasmado con el año que viene. He estado trabajando diligentemente para completar un horario escolar centrado en los estudiantes y nuestros equipos han comenzado a pensar en cómo continuaremos desarrollando el trabajo que hemos comenzado este año escolar.A pesar de Nuestro año escolar tuvo varios giros y vueltas: sé que somos las personas que pueden marcar la diferencia y generar un cambio duradero para nuestros estudiantes. Dear James John Families,
Our safe route initiative has begun. This week street cones went up on Leonard St. to signal a road closure for our buses at drop-off from 7:30 - 8:10 am and at pick-up from 2:00 - 2:35 pm (see pictures below). Thank you all for helping us keep our school streets safe for our kiddos.
During this past PTA evening we discussed street changes that will occur around the perimeter of our school building and playgrounds, particularly on Charleston St and at our “James John Driveway” - John St. and Kellogg St.
As we begin to shift our focus to improve safety on John St. and Kellogg St., we will need adults to help. If you are interested in helping, please drop by the office for more information. Coming Soon! James John Carnival - PTA is looking for volunteers to help run stations and activities. Come help out, the kiddos will be happy to see you and they will appreciate it.
While this next information seems early, I feel we can never over prepare. I wanted to begin and inform families of changes that will take into effect our 2024/25 school year. Next school year will be fifteen (15) minutes longer, meaning dismissal will be at 2:30 pm. Drop off time and beginning of school time will remain the same, 7:45 am breakfast and school will begin at 8:00 am sharp. It is strange to say, but I am already excited about next year. I have been working diligently to get a school schedule that is student centered completed and our teams have begun to think about how we will continue to build on the work we have begun this school year. Eventhough our school year had several twists and turns - I know we are the people that can make a difference and make a lasting change for our students. We have an amazing group of educators and an amazing community of families. Si se Puede!
