Our character strong trait for the month of March is COOPERATION!! Our character strong trait for the month of March is COOPERATION!!

If we all work together, share our resources and pull towards the same goals, we will not only achieve everything we set out to do, but far surpass what we imagined we could accomplish

The purpose of COOPERATION

If we work in a unified manner, sharing our resources and with the same goals in sight, we most surely will not only meet our purpose, but far surpass everything we imagined that we could accomplish

Forward Evaluation

Please be reminded that the Wisconsin Forward Evaluation testing begins on March 16th at Merrill Elementary for grades 3 through 5. We ask that you ensure that your student/s are well rested and on time for their arrival to school. We also encourage that you have a conversation with your student about the importance of doing the best they can on this evaluation so that we can appropriately gauge the results and make effective action plans to fulfill the areas that may need more attention.

Book "Vending" Machine

Through funding Merrill received, we were able to be gifted a "vending" machine that instead of dispensing snacks, dispenses books!! In combination with our Tigers of the week program, we are giving out "golden coins" that are inserted into the machine and then the student can chose the book that they would like to take home. We are focusing on literacy and weaving it into the foundation of our curriculum and recognitions.

Winners of the attendance contest are.....drum roll please....

Ms. Lindsey's class!!!!! Congratulations 4K on having the highest attendance rates for one running month. They have won a pizza and ice cream party for their effort and achievement. This is the perfect opportunity to remind all parents that the expectation is for the student to be inside the gym by 7:45 am. This is when all students form a line and walk to their classrooms. We understand that issues arise and sometimes it is hard for us to make it on time, however, when this is consistent, the student is losing out on instructional time which will cause lower test scores and course proficiency will most likely be affected. We all strive for our students to be able to reach the academic goals and at Merrill, we dedicate ourselves to being your partner in ensuring your student receives the very best education. If there are any tools we may provide to help increase your students attendance rates, please feel free to call us at 608-361-2605.
