Weekly Update July 2, 2026

Both centers are closed Friday, July 3rd and Monday, July 6th for the 4th of July.

Each Friday in the summer, we plan for an extra fun activity and a dress up day. All the dress up days are designed to be simple ones you can do with things you have at home, please don’t feel obligated to buy anything to make this happen. Staff and children will both participate in dressing up!

7-10-26 Reading buddies. HAT DAY - wear any hat!

7-17-26 Brighton: Water day. BEACH DAY- bring your swimsuit so we can play in the water - dress like you're heading to the beach - sunglasses, beach towel, etc!

7-17-26 Burton: Glow in the dark party. NEON COLOR DAY- Wear any neon or bright colors!

7-24-26 Water painting outside. SCHOOL SPIRIT DAY - wear your Strive shirt

7-31-26 Frozen Dino Eggs activity. PAJAMA DAY

8-7-26 Brighton: Wheels Day/Wheels Wash/Water day - bring your wheels again, we'll wash them and have a splashing good time! SCHOOL SPIRIT DAY - wear your Strive shirt

8-7-26 Burton: Water day. BEACH DAY - bring your swimsuit so we can play in the water - dress like you're heading to the beach - sunglasses, beach towel, etc!

8-14-26 PD DAY - NO THERAPY

8-21-26 What melts in the sun? Science experiement. ALL ONE COLOR DAY - dress in all one color.

Emergency Procedures

Strive Center takes the safety of our children and staff very seriously. As such, we ensure that staff are well trained and prepared to handle a variety of situations.

We practice fire drills and tornado drills quarterly, with children in attendance. In both locations, we have a designated area outside the building for the group to gather in case of fire. We also have interior areas without windows for the group to gather in case of a tornado.

Strive Center requires all employees to be trained in CPR and basic first aid. In addition, our staff are trained in how to handle power outages or a wandering emergency with a child.

Our team have also been trained in responding to an active shooter or other intruder. We have reunification sites in both locations for an instance such as an active shooter, or other emergency that would require removing children fully from the building site. When the reunification site is used, parents will be notified via Remind or via phone call. Staff will use the Remind notification app if able to do so or will call families individually if not. Please see below for the reunification site for each location.

Anna joined Strive in 2026 as an ABA Therapist. Prior to joining the team, she gained experience working in the food service industry, where she developed strong communication, teamwork, and customer service skills.

Anna is currently pursuing her Bachelor’s degrees in Psychology and German. She is passionate about continuing her education and expanding her understanding of communication, behavior, and human development.

In her free time, Anna enjoys reading, playing piano, spending time with her cats, and watching movies with her dad. Her favorite color is purple, and some of her favorite places to visit are Barnes & Noble, Olga’s, and La Marsa.
