Dear Hardy Families,

It’s officially the 67th day of school — or as we like to say, six-seeeeeeven day! When our students join in on a trend, we lean in! Today, I shared a few “six-seven” fun facts over the all-call, and staff joined in the fun too — calling the office as the 6th or 7th caller to win a $6.70 Starbucks gift card. It’s the little things that bring joy and connection to our days.

This week is Minimum Days every day for Family Conferences, with dismissal at 11:55 AM. We hope these conversations help you celebrate your child’s progress and set meaningful goals together.

A few quick tips for families:
• Ask your child what they’re most proud of before the conference.
• Focus on growth and effort, not just grades.
• Collaborate with your teacher to set one goal your child can work toward at home with you.
• Take a moment to thank your child’s teacher — these meetings reflect countless hours of preparation and care.

As we head into Thanksgiving week, I want to express my gratitude to our incredible Hardy families. I know you have a choice in where to send your child to school, and I’m deeply thankful you’ve chosen Hardy. It’s a joy and privilege to partner with you in helping your children learn, grow, and soar.

With Gratitude,

Principal Aragon

Show Appreciation to a Standout Staff Member at Hardy!

We invite you—our students and families—to help us spread the love. If there’s a staff member who has made a positive difference in your school experience, let them know by sending them a LOVE Note. LOVE = Living Our Values Every(day). Your words of appreciation are powerful and lasting.

💛 Support Our Teachers During Conference Week

Parent–teacher conferences make for a long, busy week for our amazing Hardy staff. Let’s show them a little extra love! 🌟 You can:

  • Surprise your child’s teacher with something from their Favorite Things list — LINK

  • Help “clear the lists” by donating classroom supplies from Amazon or DonorsChoose — LINK

Every small gesture makes a big difference, whether it’s a treat, a note, or a quick thank-you. Let’s help our teachers feel seen and appreciated this week!

Hardy’s 3rd Graders Get a New Music Program!

All 4th and 5th graders in our district receive weekly music instruction, and all grades participate in Visual and Performing Arts classes. This year, our 3rd grade combo class has also gotten the opportunity to learn the recorder along with their 4th grade classmates!

Now, thanks to Villa Musica, Carnegie Hall, and the La Jolla Symphony, Hardy’s remaining two 3rd grade classrooms will receive weekly music instruction, learning to play the recorder and sing. The program will culminate in a concert on Saturday, March 21, where students will join other local schools and perform with a live symphony orchestra.

This program is 100% donated to Hardy and will hopefully continue for all our 3rd graders for years to come.
