Keeping Up with Comm Arts
~ March 17, 2025 ~
Hello Comm Arts Family and Friends!
Happy St. Patrick's Day! We're so excited to have you back! We hope you had a fantastic Spring Break filled with fun and adventure!
This Wednesday, March 19th, is Professional Learning Time. Teachers will be in meetings before school and unavailable for morning tutoring. Grades for report cards were due March 7th. Report cards will be available on HAC by Friday, March 21st.
Attention Juniors and Seniors! If you have off-campus lunch privileges, don’t forget to swing by the front office to grab your off-campus sticker for the final grading cycle. New stickers will be in effect starting Wednesday, March 19th. Remember, your eligibility hinges on your attendance and grades, so make sure you’re all set!
Dress Code Reminders
Students, as the weather warms up, keep our NISD dress code in mind. Shirts must be long enough to cover the stomach/back area, shorts/skirts must be at least mid-thigh in length, and pants cannot have holes above the knee. Students will be asked to change their shirts. Link to district dress code.
CommStock
We’d love for you to stop by the parking lot in front of Comm Arts this Friday, March 21st, from 5 to 7 PM. Hope to see you there! Join us in the parking lot in front of Comm Arts this Friday, March 21st, between 5 and 7 PM.
Comm Arts Banquet
Saturday, March 22nd, is our Comm Arts Banquet. The event is from 6-9 pm. Tickets sells will close on March 19th via My SchoolBucks. Remember that this is a Comm Arts-only event. No outside guests are allowed.
Campus Highlights
English 3 AP/DC
In the criminal justice system of CAHS, the people are represented by two separate yet equally important groups: the Juniors representing the police, who investigate crime, and the district attorney (Ms. B), who prosecutes the offenders. This is their story. Dun dun!"
Juniors spent the last classes before Spring Break trying to solve a murder mystery. Using their synthesizing skills from an incident report and persons of interest's testimonies, they had to write an arrest warrant for the guilty party, including a nuanced thesis and a paragraph explaining their reasoning.
No actual people were harmed during this lesson, but friendships might be strained from defending their theories.

Counselors' Corner
As CAHS students narrow down their coping skill selections from 16 choices, they have identified 4 top coping strategies they prefer when feeling overwhelmed or stressed. Here are the 4 top choices: Take a Break, Listen to Music, Drawing, and Going Outside. After Spring Break, CAHS students will continue to select their preferred options for handling stress until, eventually, there will be only one top choice.
In other news, March 7th marked the last day of the 3rd Marking Period. We encourage students and parents to keep a close watch on attendance and grades on HAC and make necessary behavior adjustments where improvement is needed. There are 50 days left of school, and while that may sound like a long way to go, the year is closing fast. Talk to your teachers to share your struggles and challenges in their specific class so they can help guide you and tutor you to a more successful outcome.
Go Center
If you plan to attend St. Philip's College, please let Mrs. Torres know so you can meet with an advisor on March 26th during lunch.
