AVA Family Update
May 17, 2024
Good morning AVA Students and Families,
I have next week's schedule, the guidance and community updates, and important dates below as usual.
I have three important notes this week.
1. I emailed all seniors and families that I am expecting to graduate yesterday. A response to the email is required. I've only heard form two of you to date.
2. Due to MCAS Math, the schedule is all mixed up on Tuesday and Thursday of next week. See below.
3. Our Art teacher, Ms. Poyet, will be on leave for the rest of the year. No attendance will be taken in her block today, and I will announce to students in Advisory on Monday what our plans are.
I have also included the transportation sign-ups that students must complete if they wish to participate in any busing next year again. If you have any intentions to be in-person next year, you need to complete it.
Thank you for your time.

Guidance Updates
Service Academy Night - Last Call!
Kind reminder: MA Congressman Auchincloss's office is hosting on Tuesday, May 28th 6-7:30pm a virtual event for students grades 9-11 and their families who are interested in learning more about the application process for the five United States Service Academies: West Point, Navy, Air Force, Merchant Marines, and Coast Guard. Pre-registration for the webinar is required (click HERE to register).
SATs - Fall 2024 dates
Collegeboard has released their Fall 2024 SAT Testing schedule. Click HERE to register, and we recommend registering sooner than later. The June 2024 SAT test date on AHS campus has already been full for some weeks, so we can expect that the Fall 2024 dates may fill up sooner than normal.
SAT Test Fee Waivers
Collegeboard is now offering SAT test fee waivers directly online. Please click HERE to read the eligibility criteria and then click on the link labeled "request a fee waiver directly from College Board". Students will then have to sign into their Collegeboard account and add their counselor's (i.e. Ms Nellie's) email. Please reach out to Ms Nellie with any questions.
Senior Exit Survey
Graduating AVA seniors: if you have not yet, please complete the Exit Survey to confirm your after-graduation plans. You must be logged into your attleborops.net email account to access and submit. This is a mandatory task, so please complete and submit by the last day for seniors on May 24th.
As always, please email me at nng@attleboroschools.com with any comments, suggestions, and concerns, or to make a virtual meeting appointment. Have a fantastic weekend!
