Principal's Message
Dear families,
I wanted to personally thank everyone who contributed to our attendance awareness event this Wednesday. Your generous donations and willingness to volunteer genuinely will make a difference in making the event a success. Through your support and involvement, we can foster a strong sense of community and promote student attendance.
I am excited to announce that we will celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month with a dress-up day this Thursday. Join us in embracing and celebrating the rich diversity of our students by participating in this dress-up day. We look forward to seeing everyone's creative interpretations and celebrating together as a school community. As stated in our previous newsletter, If you are able and interested, we are also accepting donations for our multicultural committee to support the decoration and provision of Hispanic treats. To contribute, please contact Ms. Maffucci.
Additionally, our PTO will send out important information regarding committee chair candidates and the upcoming voting process this week. We encourage all parents to participate in this vital decision-making process. Your input is valuable, and your active involvement helps shape the direction of our school.
For those of you who volunteered for our School-Based Decision Making (SBDM) committee, I will be contacting each of you by the end of the week with the next steps. Your dedication to improving our school and providing valuable input is greatly appreciated.
Please mark your calendars for our upcoming trunk or treat event! Save the date and watch for the flyer with all the details under the PTO section of this newsletter. This will be a fun-filled, family-friendly event that we are excited to host. We can't wait to see the creative trunk decorations!
Lastly, parent-teacher conferences will happen during the week of October 23rd. This is an excellent opportunity to connect with your child's teachers, discuss their progress, and address any questions or concerns you may have. Your active involvement in your child's education is vital to their success. Teachers will include a sign-up form in the next couple of weeks.
Once again, I want to express my gratitude for your unwavering support and commitment to our school community. Together, we are making a difference in the lives of our students and fostering an environment where they can thrive academically and socially. Thank you for your continued support!
Best regards,
Dr. G

Community Fundraising and Giving Project
Common Cents: Pennies from the Heart Program
Dallas ISD schools have the opportunity to participate in the Common Cents: Pennies from the Heart Program which teaches awareness of community needs, involves students in community fundraising and giving, and promotes community service. This program enables students to choose any local 501c3 non-profit to support, allowing them power to lead the charge in giving back to their own communities.
For the 2023-2024 campaign, Common Cents is partnering with the Culture & Belonging Team of Counseling Services to offer the program as an opportunity to teach the essential components of pro social skills as a leverage for academic success, via felt safety, self-awareness and community building to provide belonging for all.
The school has applied to be part of this service project. Once approved, Ms. Carter will share all the information with us.
Uniforms
I would like to remind you to review the uniform policy and ensure that your child is wearing appropriate uniform and footwear. This is to ensure their safety as improper shoes can lead to injuries.
Homeroom teachers will begin contacting families regarding this topic to better understand individual needs.
Your cooperation in this matter is highly appreciated. please see the approved uniform policy here
