News & Updates
Hello CELC Families,
I hope you had an enjoyable Thanksgiving break! We are excited to welcome everyone back on Monday, November 28th.
Thank you to all of the families and friends that joined us for the Turkey Trot! It was a big success. Our lil turkey raised money to help fund classroom supplies, technology, and special events.
As a reminder, please make sure that you are driving carefully in the parking lot. Please be alert and stay off your phones. We have little ones and their younger siblings walking to and from cars at drop off and pick up. Pedestrians, please make sure you use the crosswalk to help the situation. We all want to make sure that everyone is safe.
Here is a list of the latest updates and news to keep you informed:
- Tis the season for our unpredictable weather. Please send your student with a jacket. The fall weather brings cooler temperatures (sometimes).
- Please check your child's backpack for a Dental (pink) and Health (green) form. They were sent home on Friday, November 18th. These are needed for first grade. Please turn them in by May 31st. If you need another copy, please let the office know.
- Mark you calendars- The CELC PTA is hosting a book fair December 5th through the 9th. There will be opportunities for families to shop before and after school. Volunteers are still needed to help. Please let the office know if you can sign up for a time to work the book fair.
- Please check the lost and found for missing items.
- Please send your student to school each day with a backpack, refillable water bottle, a healthy snack, and a lunch (unless they are getting a cafeteria lunch).
Please report any absences to your child's teacher and the office. Please let the office know the reason your child is out and what symptoms they have.
Before and after school care is available. Please contact our ESS Coordinator, Natalija Worrell, if you have any questions at nworrell@alpineschools.net
For transportation questions and concerns, please visit AUSD's website at https://www.alpineschools.net/page/transportation or call the GUHSD Transportation Department.
Every Monday is college spirit day and every Friday is school spirit day! Wear a college shirt on Mondays and a Cub shirt (or CELC colors) on Friday.

AUSD 2022-23 LCAP GOALS
The Governor's budget for education mandated that every school district in California needs to update its Local Control Accountability Plan (LCAP). The Local Control Accountability Plan (LCAP) is a component of the Local Control Funding Formula (LCFF). The LCAP is intended to be a three-year plan to improve student achievement by setting annual goals for the district in eight priority areas. Each of the priorities has established data requirements to track district progress improving student achievement. The LCAP requires Districts to gather input from students, teachers, parents, and community members to determine the goals, actions, and budget priorities for the District. Our District staff worked together with all of our stakeholder groups to gather input and craft the draft of our Local Control Accountability Plan. Here are AUSD's 2022-23 LCAP Goals:
Goal #1: Effective Instruction and Curriculum - Provide equitable access to high-quality classroom curriculum and instruction in an inclusive environment that promotes student success.
Goal #2: Safe and Respectful Environments - Ensure all school sites are safe and have healthy and welcoming climates for staff, students, and their families so that all students feel connected and are motivated to attend and ready to learn.
Goal #3: Equitable and Culturally Responsible Systems - Ensure systems and processes eliminate barriers to student success and are equitable and culturally responsive to the needs of our students and their families.
