On Wednesday afternoon, our school community came together to celebrate the annual Harvest Festival in the beautiful setting of the Cathedral. The event was a wonderful reminder of the importance of thankfulness and giving. This year’s service was led by our talented Year 3 and Year 4 pupils, who did a fantastic job guiding us through songs, readings and reflections. Their clear voices, confident speaking and thoughtful messages helped everyone remember how lucky we are and how important it is to share with others. Pupils from Reception to Year 6, staff, families and members of the community filled the Cathedral, enjoying the children's performances and joining in with our harvest hymns, and we were joined by Steve, Mary and Beth from the Cathedral team to lead the children in prayer and reflection. A big thank you to Year 3 and 4, and to everyone who helped make this event so special. It was a lovely afternoon celebrating the values of gratitude and generosity.

In support of our Harvest message, donations of food have been collected for the Food Support Service at Ripon Community House over the last few weeks, and we thank everyone for their amazing generosity. Pupils and staff will deliver the food to the Community House next week.

Play Leaders and New Equipment Play Leaders and New Equipment

It has been lovely to see the children playing together across the year groups out in the yard. We have a lot of new play equipment and 'play leaders' have been chosen to help with all the new games. We are proud to report everyone is showing they can be responsible for looking after the equipment.

Parking Reminder from Mrs Walsh Parking Reminder from Mrs Walsh

I would like to kindly remind all parents and carers about the importance of safe and considerate parking outside school. The area around our school can become very busy at drop-off and pick-up times, and it’s vital that we all work together to keep everyone – especially our children – safe. Please avoid parking on double yellow lines, zig-zag markings or across driveways, as this can block visibility and create unnecessary danger.

If possible, consider walking, scooting/cycling or parking a little further away and walking the last part of the journey. Parking permits are available from the school office for St Marygate car park and we highly recommend the use of these. A few extra minutes can make a big difference to safety and provide great exercise too! Please ring the office or pop in to see Mrs Bingham who can issue you with a parking permit.

Please note that the school car park should not be used for pick-up or drop-off, including for Oscars before and after school.

Let’s continue to set a good example for our children and help keep the area around our school safe and calm for everyone. Thank you for your support and cooperation.

One of the first fundraising events this year is the Scholastic Book Fair which will be running 8th to 13th October. The book trolleys will be in the yard, weather permitting, or in the long corridor near the hall. Payment can be by card or cash. Commission is received on every sale which means school can purchase more books.

A Bag2School collection has been organised for 8th October. Items can be brought in any type of bag or sack and left near the bike racks just inside the front entrance. Please bring at drop off as they often arrive early for collection. Unfortunately we do not have space in school to store bags brought before the day, thank you.
