Student Device Insurance - Enroll by October 1

Device insurance for student devices has moved to a new system for the 2026-27 school year. Families who wish to participate must enroll by October 1 through your PowerSchool Parent Portal account.

    • Enrollment Cost: $30 per student device
    • Free/Reduced Meal Students: $0 enrollment cost
    • How to Enroll: Log into your PowerSchool Parent Portal account and complete the Insurance Form under "Forms." Via the PowerSchool app, go to "More," then "Forms." The $30 enrollment fee will be collected within the form.

Insurance can significantly reduce the cost of repairs or replacement. With insurance, the cost for a standard repair is $40, while lost or stolen devices have a $100 replacement fee. Without insurance, families are responsible for the increased repair or replacement costs. Visit the One-to-One Learning page of our website for additional Student Device FAQs and responsibilities.

Replacement costs without insurance:

    • K-2: $400
    • Grades 3-8: $475
    • Grades 9-12: $500

Additional fees apply: Case replacement ($40 with insurance/$110 without), Apple-certified charger replacement ($40 with or without insurance), and cleaning fee for sticker removal ($20 with or without insurance).

First Day of School Procedures

First Day: Tuesday, August 25th, 2026 School Hours: 8:45 AM - 3:50 PM
Doors will open at 8:30am during the school year for student entry.

The first day of school is an exciting time filled with a few tears and possibly a few nervous butterflies. To help ease the anxiety of the first day, we do allow parents to walk their child into school on the first day. If parking permits, 1-2 parents/guardians may park and walk their child to the classroom door on Tuesday, August 25th (the First Day of School) only! We do ask that parents park their cars in one of the parking spots and walk to the front entrance. We need to make sure the front curb is not blocked for our car rider and bus arrivals.

Staff members will be stationed all throughout the building to assist students in getting to their classrooms. In order to begin our school day in a timely fashion, we will ask that all parents exit the building by 8:40 AM.

If you are picking your child up at the end of the day, please follow our dismissal process. We ask that parents stay in their cars and not walk up to the front of the building or get out of their car to buckle in their child. There is an area specifically designated for buckling up your child once they are loaded in the car. A visual of our dismissal process for car riders is shown below.

If your child is a bus rider, please expect delays the first few days. Our bus drivers will be ensuring that every child is getting on and dismissing at the correct stop. This process will take some time, and on average our afternoon buses are typically delayed approximately 15 to 20 minutes during the first few days of the school year.

Thank you for your patience as we work through the first day processes!

New Procedures for Student drop off and pick up

Siegrist's doors will open at 8:30 AM for student entry into the building on a daily basis, including on the First Day! If your student is a bus rider, they will be escorted into the building via the gym doors. Please stay in your car for both drop off and pick up. Staff members will assist your child out of the car and into the building each morning.

Please refer to the map for more specific details regarding morning drop-off and afternoon pick-up. We have indicated the changes by using star shapes in certain areas of the map.

Celebrations and Birthdays

We believe it is important for the school to recognize our students on their birthday and other special days. However, for several reasons including increased food allergies and preservation of the instructional day, students are not allowed to bring treats from home or have flowers/balloons or other items delivered to the classroom for birthdays, going-away parties, or other personal events. Each classroom teacher will recognize the student in a special way to celebrate his or her birthday.

If a student receives a delivery at school, the student will be notified to come to the office to view the item. Parents will be responsible for transporting the item home. Birthday party invitations may only be distributed if invitations are given to every student in the class.
