Owl News
Week of August 7th, 2023
Message from MRE Principal, Mr. Mendez
Mission Ridge Parents,
We had an #Owlsome first week back!! Thank you for your patience and assistasnce as we re-establish our procedures and routines in our campus. Together, we can work so that our childrend are safe as they arrive, while in school, and during our dismissal.
It has been great seeing our little Owls begin to get familiar with our campus and our teachers helping them around the classrooms and hallways. It has also been great seeing our new Owls joining us for the first time. We wiill help them as tehy transition to our campus and as they make new friends. And, of course, it has been great seeing all of our returning Owls once again.
Our teachers are continuing to work on establishing their routines and procedures and have started to work on the academics area that our scholars wiill need to be successful this school year.
Again, Thank you MRE Families! We are looking forward for Week 2 of this year's Mission.
Respectfully,
Jesus Mendez

Car Pick Up Signs/Cards
Car Pick Up Signs/Cards are required for the Pick Up Lane. Please ask your teacher if you don't have one. For cards, have them available so we can expedite your pick up. For signs, please place your sign on the passenger side so we may see it at a distance to ensure your child is ready for you when you pull up to the assigned pick up.
IMPORTANT: Bus ID Badges
Parents,
VERY IMPORTANT: If your child is scheduled to ride the bus, please read the following:
- Verify you child has a bus ID
- If no bus ID, you must stop by the campus to obtain one ($5 replacement fee if you have misplaced it or has damage)
- If using transportation services, please stop by the campus to sign consent to allow your child to be dismissed by boarding the bus.
SOCORRO ISD ROLLS OUT RIDE 360 BUS ROUTE TRACKING APP FOR INCREASED STUDENT SAFETY
The Socorro Independent School District is introducing Ride 360, an app that allows a streamlined flow of communication for parents when their child rides the bus.
The app uses GPS data and allows parents to see their students’ bus route information as they travel throughout the district. Parents can access their child’s secure data for bus stop location, route and pick up time, including when and where their child boards and exits the bus.
The app also allows push notifications from the transportation department to inform parents of pickup and drop-off schedules, delays, accidents, changes in bus assignments and other important information.
Parents can download the Traversa Ride 360 app on the App store or get it on Google Play.
For more information, contact the SISD Transportation Department at 915-937-0600.
To learn more about Ride 360 and how to download the app, visit https://www.sisd.net/o/sisd/page/ride-360.

Skyward Parent Portal
The Socorro Independent School District is implementing Skyward Family Access for parents and students for the 2023-2024 school year. Skyward Family Access will replace the Tyler360 portal.
Skyward Family Access is an easy-to-use website that allows parents and guardians to access information about their students, such as attendance, grades, assignments, schedules, progress reports and report cards. Skyward Family Access is available on any device with an internet connection.
Skyward Family Access is now available to students and parents. Click here to learn more about how to use Skyward. Information also will be shared with parents via email.
SISD appreciates parents’ patience and understanding during the transition to Skyward Family Access.
MRE Attendance Reminders
We know our students will become ill throughout the year. For this reason, it is important that when our students are healthy, they are attending school every day. Lost instructional days do not only impact your child's education but also the education and dynamics of all students in the classroom. For this reason, MAKING EVERYDAY Count is critical for the success of your child and all students on campus.
The state of Texas holds administrators and parents accountable for attending school daily. At 5 absences or tardies, you will be asked to have a meeting with administration to make sure we are working together to educate your child. Please help support our teachers by bringing in your children ready to learn. We thank you for making attendance a priority.
When your child is out, you can email a personal note and/or doctors release to: attendancemissionridge@sisd.net
