Mrs. Stark's Message
The Book Fair is coming November 5th-12th! Beginning October 15th, parents will be able to add to their child's e-wallet so that they can purchase books. Use this link to get to the wallet and learn more about the book fair.
If your child goes to Horizon after school, just a reminder that Horizon is CLOSED tomorrow, Monday, October 13th. Students need to be picked up in car line at 2:50. Please be sure to call Mrs. Miller to confirm how your child will be going home. This needs to be communicated by 1:00 pm. You can also leave a message on the attendance line today.
If you need to pick up your child early from school, please also be sure to call the office (don't just message the teacher) before coming in so that we can be sure to know where they will be when you come and cause the least amount of disruption in the building. We will call them down as soon as you arrive. Knowing where to find them will make your wait time minimal.
Maple Elementary is hiring a long term special education assistant. The position is available from Early November until February. If you know of someone who might be interested, please encourage them to reach out to me with any questions or to apply online. We are a great group to work with! https://www.applitrack.com/nolmsted/onlineapp/jobpostings/view.asp

Fall Events
Mark your calendars for a fun Maple Family event!
Kindness Tree
Kindness is EVERYWHERE! Proud of our students who have been earning Kindness Awards!
Ms. Strazzanti has been doing guidance lessons about kindness. Students at Maple have pledged to stick together and be kind!
Collaboration
Once a week, our teachers spend time as a team to collaborate to provide best teaching practices. When they are out of the room, our fabulous Noon Monitors go into the classroom to supervise their learning path through a program called Edmentum, and then students get time to build and create!
Before Care
If you are interested in before care, or are currently signed up for first quarter before care, it is time to register for 2nd quarter. The first quarter ends October 17th.
Hours are 7:15- 8:00 am
Before School Care
Note from the Nurse
We have had some illnesses going around Maple. Please encourage proper handwashing and watch for symptoms. Specifically, we have had several cases of Hand and Foot. See the attached document, from our nurse, to know what symptoms to look for. This is a very contagious childhood illness. Children that have vomited or have a fever must stay home until they are fever free (without medication) or haven't vomited for at least 24 hours.
