PLEASE READ: A Note from Mrs. Pitts
Dear RES Families,
We wanted to do a special feature to highlight last week's focus on student and family WELLNESS. We had the opportunity to celebrate wellness and well-being with the help of our planning group, the Wellness Committee. This committee is made up of both teachers and parents. We want to give a special shout out to Caitlin Piper, who organized many additional activities and speakers from our own community to join in the fun this year. Below are some highlights she put together so you could see how much the students learned and how active they were in this learning throughout the week.
THANK YOU for your support,
Warmly,
Michelle Pitts

Placement 2025-2026
It is actually that time, thinking about placement for the 2026-2027 school year! Based on the small community that we have at RES, sometimes with only two options for class placements, we cannot honor any requests. HOWEVER, if you have an extenuating circumstance that is truly unique and should be considered, please email Michelle Pitts (mpitts@sau50.org). This information will be considered, but due to many factors, may not be possible. After class placement for 2026-2027 is released, we know that we can work through any potential challenges that were not originally anticipated because we value teamwork, especially between home and school.
*ALL EMAILS MUST BE SENT BY APRIL 17. There cannot be any exceptions as we will start the process right after break!
Below are some factors to consider:
-We only consider information from this current year as we may not be privy to or have information about particular relationships between students, etc. from previous years.
-Please do not assume that incidents between certain children will be recalled during the placement process as this is a challenge when so many factors are being considered.
-It is important to understand that anything written will be shared with teachers after the Principal has read them.
-REQUESTS FOR SPECIFIC TEACHERS CANNOT BE HONORED. The process of placing students is multifaceted, rendering it impossible to honor these requests.
-Please understand that the Rye Elementary staff cannot take calls or discuss placement regarding specific placement requests. To do so would compromise the hard work of all involved.
Anything you want to share that you think will be helpful, we welcome.
Thank you!
Book Fair is Coming!
STARTING THE CONVERSATION!
ORDER YOUR YEARBOOK!
QUICK NOTES
- You may be receiving a handout in your child's folder soon. PLEASE look out for it!
Grades Preschool-Grade 1: Larry Daley, Author of Float, will be coming to our school the week of April 20 to speak to our students. You have an opportunity to pre-order his book and he will bring copies with him! This will come home by tomorrow on green paper in your child's folder.
Grades 3 and 4: A letter from the Commissioner of Education (one one side), as well as an opt out form (on the other side) for New Hampshire state testing will be coming home in your child's backpack next week. Please read the letter from the Commissioner as we do use this data to create complete pictures of our curriculum, teaching and individual student progress.
LUNCH IN THE CAF
- Email resoffice@sau50.org if you would like to attend with the date/time. It is important to anticipate who will be in the building. We love these opportunities for students and their family members but we will always put safety first.
- Adults must bring their own lunch and can bring lunch for their own child.
- We do have a focus during this time...eating for energy and brain power!
- Family members must meet the child in the cafeteria and leave from the cafeteria BEFORE we line up all the children.
- Days for family visits are Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.
- Lunch times are:
Kindergarten-11:45-12:10
First Grade-12:15-12:40
Second Grade-12:15-12:40
Third Grade- 11:15-11:40
