MODEL UN INTEREST MEETINGS
Are you interested in diplomacy? Engaging in rigorous debate about pressing global issues? If so, OCSA's award winning Model United Nations team is recruiting members for the 2026-2027 competition season. Model UN teaches public speaking, collaborative leadership, and formal writing skills by competing in conferences authentically simulating the United Nations. Auditions are September 17-18. More information can be found at one of our mandatory interest meetings, hosted on August 24-25 during lunch in T200. This opportunity is open to current 7th-12th grade students. If you cannot make one of the interest meetings, please communicate to either grant.herman@ocsarts.net or rebecca.yang@ocsarts.net regarding your absence. We hope to see you there!
BUILDING ACCESS
Students are allowed into buildings 20 minutes before school starts. Please refrain from trying to open the doors until they are unlocked at 8:10 a.m., or 8:40 a.m. on non-conservatory days.
To access buildings when they are locked during class, please press 1 and the last 4 digits of your student ID number, then the # key on the keypads outside the doors and gates. Your student ID can be found on your schedule and in your Aeries account. If you do not already know your ID number, please memorize it.
LOCKER CHANGE REQUEST
Please complete this Google form for a locker change request. Please note that not all locker change requests will be granted. Changes will be considered for either broken locker/lock or mobility/accessibility issues. We cannot guarantee a locker change request because of a building location.
FINGERPRINTING
Students who have never been fingerprinted need to go to the cafeteria on the second floor of the Tower in the morning before school starts. You will need to know your ID number, which can be found in your Aeries account.
PICTURES/ID CARDS
Students who did not attend On-Campus Registration and have their picture taken will receive their OCSA ID card after they participate in Picture Make-Up Day on Wednesday, September 23.
PEER TUTOR SIGN-UPS
Applications for students wishing to volunteer as peer tutors this year are now in Google Classroom (code: gbrmqucx). If you are interested in working with a student, carefully read the instructions and expectations for peer tutors in the Google Classroom. When you have done this, please complete and submit the application form as soon as possible. Once you have submitted your application, Ms. Davies will contact your reference teachers to confirm your ability to tutor. We hope to start sending out peer tutor and tutee matches in the next few weeks. Tutors may apply to join the program at any time during the year, but please note you will be matched with an appropriate student as the need arises, so please be patient. All time confirmed by OCSA as a peer tutor may be counted towards service hours, CSF, and NHS.
Please contact maggie.davies@ocsarts.net if you have any questions about the peer tutoring program at OCSA.
