Newer News!

Hip, Hip Hooray! Our preschoolers are on their way! We are so ready to get this school year started and to see and engage with our students on Tuesday.

Here are a few reminders as you prepare for the first days of school.

1. If your child will be riding a bus, please start that practice the first day of school. Students can only have one dismissal procedure (bus or pick up). Dismissal must be consistent to avoid confusion among students and staff.

2. Doors open at 9:25 am each morning. Families must remain in the car line. Please do not walk students up to the front doors after the first day of school. For security reasons, you will be turned away.

3. Doors open between 3:15 pm & 3:25 pm for afternoon dismissal. Please follow the car line pick-up procedures. Expect the dismissal car line to be longer during the first few days of school. Please be patient as our CEEP staff must verify photo IDs of all pick-ups.

4. For car line pick up, make sure you have your photo ID AND your smartphone. You will need to sign your child out from our dismissal QR code.

5. Expect buses to be late to your arrival pick-up location and drop-off dismissal location on the first several days of school because the drivers are learning routes and ensuring student safety procedures are in place.

6. Walkers Only: If you will pick up your child up from school as a walker, please email me to be added to our walker list. Parents are NOT permitted to park in a parking space in the school lot nor the business lots in the surrounding area. Families WILL be turned away and asked to enter the car line for drop-off and pickups during arrival and dismissal times. Your integrity to this procedure is greatly appreciated. Again, please expect the car line to take a very long time during the first two weeks of school.

7. Parent Homework: A variety of forms will come home on the first day of school and need to be completed and signed right away. (Verification form; Technology Use form; Code of Conduct form; Military and Migrant forms)

8. Parents bring your smiles. These first few days are tougher on the grown-ups. Make sure your child sees your joy instead of your worry. Rest assured your child is in good hands!

The CEEP staff and I are looking forward to an EXCELLENT school year!! Enjoy your Labor Day!!

🚌 Bus Transportation Information 🚌 🚌 Bus Transportation Information 🚌

🚌 Bus Transportation Information 🚌

Your child's transportation information was sent directly from the transportation department. Routing is a tedious operation; we ask for your patience as they work through any errors they discover after sending information to families. Please be patient as they work through these errors.

The information should include your child’s BUS STOP LOCATIONS, BUS PICK-UP/DROP-OFF TIMES, and BUS NUMBER. If your child does not ride the school bus, you will receive a car line tag on the first day of school.

For bus riders, please have your child ready to walk out the door at least ten (10) minutes before the listed bus pickup time; to ensure consistent route timing, the bus driver cannot wait for late arrivals.

Please be aware that pickup times may change throughout the year. Every new student who registers at CEEP and is added to your child's bus requires a time change for students impacted after the new student is added. You should receive notification from the transportation department or bus driver directly.

Please contact the transportation department with any additional inquiries 302-323- 2851.

πŸš— Car Rider Information πŸš— πŸš— Car Rider Information πŸš—

If your child will be a car rider you will need to have a car rider tag for dismissal. The car line tag (or temporary tag) will be placed inside of your child's bookbag on the first day. We will only provide car line tags to students who are picked up every day. Students should have one dismissal method: bus (if eligible) or car/walker. We've upgraded our tags to sturdier hanging tag. If tags are lost, the school cannot replace them. Please let us know, and we will provide you with a paper tag.

Carline Dismissal

  • On the first day of school, staff members will come around and ask parents picking up their child(ren) for the child(ren) 's names. On the second day of school and thereafter, please have your child(ren)’s name(s) prominently displayed on the driver's side of the front windshield of your car. Our school will provide the car tag sign. We will check IDs during the first week or two until we become familiar with families picking up.

  • If you need to come into the building during arrival/dismissal times to speak with someone, please park in the Colwyck parking lot and go to the main office in the Colwyck building for assistance. You may be asked to wait until arrival/dismissal clears before being helped.

  • When entering the Colwyck parking lot, parents should follow the directions of the school staff. The drop-off area is numbered with spaces 1-7. Families must follow the carline numbers to ensure a safe and efficient drop-off process. Drive your car on top of the next available car number. Stay in your car and wait for your child(ren) to exit the building and enter the car. Parents are to remain with their cars at all times.

  • Staff will walk your child to your car; at that time, you will exit your car and receive your child.

  • Parents must secure their children in car seats and safety belts; staff are not permitted to strap students into their car seat.

  • Please wait patiently until the car in front of you departs. Do not drive around any cars in the car line. This puts students and families at risk. Please pull away slowly, watching for others inside and outside of the gate, and proceed cautiously to the exit.

  • If another person will pick up your child, please send a note or email to the office secretary indicating the change. Please have that person follow these procedures. Please ensure the person brings a valid form of identification (driver’s license/state ID). The name on the person’s ID must match the name you provided in the note.

  • Adults who arrive after the car line dismissal will be considered late. You will need to park in the Colwyck parking lot and sign your child out from the main office. There is a late fee associated for late pick-ups. Please make every effort to arrive before this time. If you will be late, please contact the Colwyck Office by calling (302) 429-4085. Students with excessive late pick-ups or early drop-offs will be required to ride the school bus, if eligible, or up for review to be removed from the program at the discretion of the school administrator.

Please refer to the Parent Handbook for information about the school's Right to Refuse Child's Release and Authorized and Unauthorized Pick-Ups.
