Upton Update

There will be a PTA Meeting on Monday, February 9, at 7:00 p.m. in the Media Center. All are welcome to attend.

Our professional learning morning for staff will take place again this Wednesday, February 11. This means that it is a late start for students. The first bell will ring at 9:20 a.m. with classes starting at 9:25 a.m.

The new semester for our Homework Club on Late Start Wednesdays has started. If you would like your child to attend, the cost is $15 for the semester.

Homework Club Form

On Wednesday, students will observe professional demonstrations of instruments they can play at ROMS. They will then have an opportunity to TRY OUT the instruments they are most interested in playing. They will receive an evaluation sheet to record their thoughts on those instruments.

There is no school scheduled from Friday, February 13-Tuesday, February 17. Have a wonderful Mid-Winter Break!

This is our mid-year annual reminder to families about updating emergency contacts in MiStar. Your emergency contact list should include any trusted family member or friend who could pick your child up in the event of an emergency. Students will not be released to anyone NOT included on their emergency contact list.

To update:

Log in to MiStar
Select “My Information” in the upper-right menu
Select the photo of your child
Select “Emergency Contacts” in the upper-left menu
Add the contact name and phone number
Select “Submit”

Report Cards are available to view online through Parent Portal on the Royal Oak Schools website. There is a Report Card tab on the left side of the screen that you need to click to access your child's Report Card. If you have any questions or need help accessing your child's report card, please contact the Oakland Schools Help Desk at 248-209-2060.

Kindergarten enrollment began on February 2, 2026. All children who are five years of age on or before September 1 are eligible to enroll for the coming school year.
