Mr. Hartmann reading to Mrs. Miller's Class

This week, our students were treated to a very special surprise in the LRC: Mystery Guest Readers!

Before the big reveal, students had to put on their detective hats and try to guess the identity of their reader using a series of clever, personalized clues created by the guests themselves. The suspense was half the fun!

A massive and heartfelt THANK YOU to Abbie Ganshert and Derek Hartmann for volunteering their time to be our fabulous mystery readers. The guessing game was a huge hit, and all of our classes had a truly wonderful time listening to the fantastic stories you shared.

Thank you both for bringing so much joy and excitement to our library this week! πŸ“šβœ¨

✨ Summer Reading Magic: Join Us at the LRC! ✨ Summer Reading Magic: Join Us at the LRC!

We are thrilled to announce our new summer hours for the LRC! To keep the reading magic alive while school is out, the LRC will be open weekly on Wednesdays from 4:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Students are invited to drop in and join us for a fantastic hour of literacy and fun. Each week, our summer sessions will feature:

  • Tasty Snacks: To fuel those growing brains!

  • Engaging Read-Alouds: Sit back, relax, and enjoy a great story.

  • Interactive Stations: Fun, hands-on activities for everyone to explore.

  • Cozy Reading Time: Find a comfortable spot in the library to get lost in a good book.

Special Guest Alert! We are so excited that Mary from the St. Charles Public Library will be joining us during these sessions. She will be on hand to help students officially tabulate and track their reading hours for the public libraries summer reading program.

Want to get involved? We would love your help! Anyone who would like to stop by and volunteer their time during our summer hours is more than welcome. It is a wonderful way to support our young readers and connect with the community.

We can't wait to see you this summer! πŸ“š

Help Shape the Future of our LRC! πŸ“š Help Shape the Future of our LRC! πŸ“š

As we approach the end of the school year, we are taking time to reflect on our LRC structure and programming. Our primary goal is to ensure we are fully meeting the needs of our teachers, and your input is vital to discussing how we can best structure our library moving forward.

We want to hear from you! We would love to get your feedback on what is working, what isn't, and how the library can better support your classroom instruction. If your team would like to discuss this collaboratively, I would be absolutely thrilled to attend one of your upcoming PLC meetings. Just let me know what date works for your team!

Tech Tidbits and Information

Chromebook Troubleshooting Tips

Here's a how-to slideshow with some basic troubleshooting tips for chromebooks. It includes information on how to fix a sideways screen, clearing your cache and turning off accessibility mode.

Vivi Updates - Extended Screen

For those who wanted to extend their desktops instead of mirror your screen you now can! Using the desktop vivi app you can set up multiple screens. Here's a quick how-to from microsoft or please reach out to Kristine to help!

YouTube Update

Elementary students cannot access YouTube as of June 2025. While this has its good points it may create a wrinkle in your teaching if you want students to utilize secondary video sources. If you have any questions or need support finding other options please reach out to Kristine. :)

Daily Sub Tech Capabilities

New this year, daily subs will use a chromebook issued from the LRC. These devices can connect to Vivi using classlink, however, daily subs do not have the ability to print.

They also do not have access to many Classlink and instructional apps. Please keep this in mind when you are planning an absence.

Below is a snapshot of what you're daily substitute will see in classlink.
