Dual Enrollment Courses
Ozark Technical Community College
Overview
Dual credit is a wonderful opportunity for high school students to earn college and high school credit simultaneously, without having to leave the high school setting. Eligible students can take OTC courses to earn credit at both MOVA. MODA and OTC. Dual credit courses allow students to get a jump on their college coursework and give them a sample of what college studies are like. Students can take dual credit courses online during the fall and spring semesters. All dual credit courses are taken online with OTC instructors.

OTC Dual Enrollment Expectations and Policies
Students enrolled in dual credit are college students. The expectations outlined below assist students with how to navigate college before high school graduation.
In college, FERPA states educational rights are limited solely to the student, no matter the student’s age. Meaning, we cannot disclose student information to parents, even when students are minors. Students are encouraged to contact OTC directly.
Therefore, OTC expects dual credit students to act like college students, perform at the college level, and be responsible for their own education. The college-level expectations include regular attendance, active class participation, meeting class objectives and deadlines, and seeking academic help through the resources like the tutoring center. Additionally, students are encouraged to use and respond to their myOTC portal email, especially to contact their course instructor directly when a concern or questions relevant to class arises.
Students who are unable to actively participate in online class(es), are withdrawn from class(es) for non-participation.
OTC Dual Credit students follow OTC’s Academic Calendar. For example, when a student’s high school is closed and OTC is open, the student’s assignments for their online course are still due before the deadline.
Students and parents should carefully review the Important Online Dual Credit Information, How to be a Successful Online Learner, and the Student Handbook before deciding to pursue online classes. Additionally, students should complete the Guided Self-Placement Tool to determine which English and Math classes are right for them prior to enrollment. Making an informed and wise decision about placement is important. For more information about why we use this tool as an alternative to tests like the ACT, visit the Guided Self-Placement Overview.

Metropolitan Community College
Metropolitan Community College
Dual enrolled students take MCC classes before completing their high school diploma/certification. A dual enrolled student is enrolled in both college coursework and high school (or homeschool) coursework at the same time.
The two programs are operated separately, and students receive college credit upon successful completion of their dual enrollment courses. In some cases, the college credit earned by a student can count toward the high school/homeschool certification only if the high school or homeschool association approves. These courses are taught at MCC via on-campus or online delivery by MCC instructors
Steps in the Dual Enrollment Process
1.) Apply to MCC.
2.) Take a placement test or submit your ACT scores. (Placement Test Link)
3.) Attend and enrollment session or meet with a Student Success Advisor to enroll.
More information on Dual Enrollment at MCC can be found here.
Student Eligibility
Dual enrollment students must meet all prerequisite requirements for any course, including satisfactory placement test scores in English, reading, and mathematics as required by MCC policies for all college-level students. If they are receiving dual credit with their high school, please refer to the dual credit eligibility requirements.
Financial Information
Tuition for dual enrolled students is half the cost of standard tuition (based on the status of in-district, out of district, or out of state) until they graduate high school. Students can pay by mailing a payment, paying online, or paying in person at the nearest campus. Students are also responsible for purchasing required books as identified per course.
For more information on payment deadlines, financial responsibility, and returned checks, please visit the tuition and fees section. The amount of tuition depends on where a student resides, in district, out of district, or out of state.
