Information and communication for Garfield Families
Message from Principal Stilwell
Dear Garfield Families,
Thank you so much for joining us for conferences! Your involvement is so important and makes a big difference in your child’s learning and success. We also loved celebrating together at our Tiger Pride Assembly on Friday—what a joyful way to recognize our students!
Congratulations to all of our students for a fantastic Team Tiger Month—your hard work and Tiger pride shine bright every day!
Just a reminder, there will be no school on Tuesday, November 11, in observance of Veterans Day.
Thank you for your continued support and partnership. We are so grateful for our Garfield families!
In gratitude,
Kathy Stilwell, Principal

World Kindness Day
November 13
Next Wednesday is World Kindness Day, a special day to show we care! You can share a smile, say something nice, help a friend, or even write a thank-you note.
Let’s all do something kind and make our school an even happier place. Remember, even little acts of kindness make a BIG difference!
Ruby Bridges Walk to School Day
Friday November 14
We are joining in the national walk to school day honoring Ruby Bridges, who at age 6 became the first Black student to integrate an all-white elementary school in 1960. Ruby Bridges Walk to School Day celebrates her courage and promotes unity, kindness, and inclusion. Consider walking to school, discussing Ruby’s story with students, or reflecting on ways we can continue her legacy of bravery and equality.

Parking Lot Reminders
Thank you, Garfield Families, for helping make this one of our smoothest starts to the year in the parking lot! As we move into the darker months, please keep these safety reminders in mind so everyone can arrive and leave safely.
- Move Slowly- Please drive slowly through the parking lot and the pick-up/drop-off lane.
- Use the Pick- Up and Drop-Off- Use the designated pick-up and drop-off area when dropping off or picking up your student by car. This helps keep traffic flowing smoothly.
- Park in the Parking Lot- If you need to park, please use a parking space in the lot. Try not to use the lot itself as a pick-up or drop-off zone. If no spaces are available, please continue through the lot and loop back around. This helps keep cars moving and opens spots for others.
Thank you for helping make Garfield a safe and welcoming place for all our families!
Attendance Matters: If you show - you grow!
We look forward to seeing your child at school every day. Regular school attendance is important, and we will work with you to ensure your child is present to benefit from an excellent education. If your child is absent, please email our attendance email address, gaeattendance@everettsd.org.
If email is not possible, please call 425-385-4705 to report the absence. Please make sure there is an email or a written note within 30 days after your student returns to school.
