Congratulations to our final PAW Award winners! These outstanding Lester Park Labs were selected by their teachers and staff for consistently demonstrating what it means to be respectful, responsible, safe, and kind:
Jed, Hilde, Winnie, Eloise, River, Eden, Mara, Amelia, Gus, William, Astoria, Will, Myla, Isabelle, Emree, Nova, Weston, Westman, Westin, Allie, Ella, Syncere, Laya, Lena, Kayla, Lukas, Elizabeth, Charlie, Brody, Marek, Arlo, Evelyn, and Brina.
These students were all recognized at our PAW Assembly yesterday. We are so proud of the positive impact you make in our school community each day, keep up the amazing work!
We had the best time with our first ever Book Blast! Over 3,000 books were delivered to our school and...
- Every single Lab took home at least 3 brand new books to keep
- Every classroom received a full set of books
- Our library received a full set of books from every grade level
To quote one Lab, it was the "best day EVER!!!!"

Teachers will be entering grades through this Friday.
Report cards will be mailed out to families next Tuesday.
Parents/Guardians will be able to view their child's grades in Infinite Campus at some point next week.
Similar to the last 15 years, teacher assignments will not be mailed to families. You will need to log into the Parent Portal of Infinite Campus in late August to find out.
Teacher assignments are typically posted on Infinite Campus the Friday before the Open House, but that could change as this is a district-wide decision. Once we know, we will put it in our school newsletters. Our first school newsletter will be sent to families on Thursday, Aug 20.
Due to data privacy laws, teacher assignments cannot be given over the phone or in an email. So please make sure you are able to log into the Parent Portal now. The school office will be very busy before school starts. If you wait until then to ask for help with the Parent Portal, you could be waiting a few days.

Are you moving this summer? Please make sure to give us an updated address and date you moved/moving. In order to update the address in Infinite Campus, the school district requires a residence verification such as a lease or purchase agreement, or a tax statement.
Will your child be taking a different bus starting this September?

If your student would like to be in the 2026 Fun Run Kick-Off video, email sarah.m.crowell@gmail.com.
The taping will likely occur in July at Lester and take no more than an hour. The final video is shown to all the students to kick-off next year's Fun Run in October.
Thank you again for your support of the Fun Run last fall! Our Lester Park Foundation annual report comes out in September, but in the meantime, we want to keep you informed on how the money raised from the Fun Run has been spent this year.
October - January, we contributed to the school Backpack Food program, funded fall Spanish Club, purchased classroom materials (e.g., seating, lap desks, handwriting materials, puzzles, and math manipulatives), provided school garden benches, funded IXL subscriptions, provided over $2,000 for library books, and also gave our annual $2,000 gift to the school for their discretionary spending.
February - May, we funded two new soccer nets, spring Spanish Club, the school's Scholastic magazine subscription, a new laminator for the school, school staff CPR training, spring Lego Club, Battle of the Books, 2nd and 3rd grade pod needs, standing desks for 5th grade, garden supplies, replacement Lester mascot head, teacher appreciation lunch, and an anti-choking device and educational materials on the Heimlich Maneuver for staff. This summer, we anticipate funding STEM kits, grass seed for the field, and needs for the Kindergarten pod.
Below are pictures of a few events and items your support made possible. Like the past two years, we will provide a more detailed report of our 2025-2026 spending when we return in September.

The Lester Park School playground will be closed June 8-12. The School District will be making necessary improvements.
The playground will be open the rest of the summer.

Duluth Parks & Rec Summer Programs
Duluth East Youth Football & Cheer registration is open!
The East Youth Football program provides kids in 3rd through 8th grades with a solid coaching staff that are Trusted Coaches certified. Safety is our top priority. The foundation of this program allows kids to experience the great sport of football while building champions and memories for years to come. The season starts on August 3rd and goes until October 17th. Teams practice Monday – Thursday and most games are held on Saturdays with the possibility of some weekday games.
Cheerleading
For anyone in 3rd-8th grade, who is interested in cheering for the East Youth Football Team. If you would like to be part of a team, build personal relationships, learn cheer skills, jumps, get a crowd excited, support an athlete on the field, and build memories to last for years to come. Then this cheer squad is for you!!
The season runs approximately August 3rd-October 17th. Practices will be held twice a week and games (Saturdays). Squads will be formed to cheer on one of the teams 3rd-8th grade. Skill level to be determined (jumps, stunts, mounts).
