Debunking the Stigma About Depression and Anxiety
Last Friday, the 8th grade class had a presentation on Debunking the Stigma about Depression and Anxiety delivered by Brenna, a former CTMS student, Ariana, and Camryn.
They are students at WRHS in Mrs. Jewell 's class as part of the health sciences pathway and are enrolled in the class, Mental Health Education. For this class they are assigned a project as one of their overall grades for the semester, where they choose a way to decrease stigma. For this, they created a slideshow talking about decreasing stigma around depression and anxiety, heavily targeting 8th graders and incoming freshmen, because they feel from experience that they are the ones going through the biggest change. Their slide show talked about what stigma is and how it's related to depression and anxiety, and they also talked about real-life stories, like their own as well as their friends. They reached out to us to present and we were happy to help out. GREAT JOB ALL
NAQUAG 1ST GRADE BUDDIES RETURN TO 6TH GRADE SCIENCE
During the visit with our 1st grade buddies, Mrs. Hughes's Science class and the 1st grade students solved the mystery of the missing Santa. Through fingerprint, handwriting, and DNA analysis, as well as identifying a mystery substance found at the crime scene, students figured out the guilty party and saved Santa!
SAVE THE DATE TO CELEBRATE THE WRHS GIRLS BASKETBALL STATE CHAMPIONSHIP
WRHS Staff are excited to announce that Friday, January 9, 2026, the night we raise the banner in the WRHS Gym for our State Champion Girls’ Basketball Team, will also be Middle School Night!
We want to pack the stands for this event and create an unforgettable atmosphere that celebrates MOUNTAINEER PRIDE. We’re encouraging every student to come to the game dressed in green and white. In addition we have agreed that any middle school student who comes with a paid adult will receive free admission to the game!
We want to fill the gym for this historic event, celebrate our championship and get the building rocking!!
