Lunch Payments
As you may be aware CSUSA has implemented a new online payment system called, My School Bucks. We have had to disable the links for online meal payments on our school websites while we work on system integration between PowerSchool, Heartland (the cafeteria Point of Sale system) and My School Bucks. Payments have stopped going into e-Funds for lunch only, while the new system is integrated any funds put in at the end of Efunds for lunch services are being manually transferred over. The process is almost complete and we’ll be reaching back out with exact “go live” date soon.
While the online option is unavailable for lunch, parents will need to pay with cash or checks. The cafeteria personnel can update the system for meal payments received at school.

Volunteering at DCSS
DCSS requires family members to volunteer a minimum of 20 hours for one student/child and 30 hours for multiple students attending our school.
Ways you can volunteer:
Volunteer at events, classroom, cafeteria- during lunch time, and/or chaperone on a field trip. Donate to the used uniform sale before the end of this school year. Donate materials and bring receipt.
Steps to Volunteer:
(This includes attending an event in the classroom or attending lunch with your child in the cafe)

2. Contact, Jill Morales, our School Volunteer Liaison to check the status of your volunteer application.
3. Mandatory Volunteer Training Information:
Effective immediately, all volunteers within the CSUSA system must complete three online Safe Schools Safety Training Courses in order to volunteer within the building. The deadline to complete these courses is 30 days from the time you register for volunteer clearance, or 30 days once school starts. Once the pieces of training are completed, there will be three certificates that must be printed and brought to the Front office before we are permitted to allow you on campus to volunteer. These online training apply to everyone that arrives on campus to volunteer: i.e Parents, Guardians, Grandparents, Friends of the family or other family members. Each person must complete the three courses and bring in the certificates.
For Parents/Guardians that do not have access to a computer, we will provide you access to our tablets.
Attached is a document with the steps to follow below. Please click on the link to get started.

Then enter Registration Key: 31b9288d
You will receive two volunteer hours total per family for completion.
4. Attend a quick school based volunteer training to go over all requirements, building expectations for volunteers and safety protocol.
Here is our first volunteer opportunity...
School Traffic Do's and Dont's Around DCSS
- Cell phones out of hands please
- Watch for students crossing parking lots, roads and crosswalks
- Please do not drop off on AC Skinner (pull into a location, and they can walk the sidewalk)
- Obey all traffic laws - please stop for school buses' red flashing lights
- Obey and be courteous to our traffic enforcement that are trying to deliver everyone to school and work safely.
- Watch your speed - (yes, we have applied for a school speed limit zone, but that is up to the city and school system for installation and timeline)
- Elementary pick up should be finished by 3:40
- Middle School pick up is finished by 3:45
- Late pick up is through the office with ID at 3:45
- At 3:55 your child may be moved to Aftercare for Emergency Care at $15 per day.
Help Us Keep Everyone Safe
1. Push the button at the front door, then when acknowledged, state your name and purpose.
2. Per Florida State Law, no handheld cell phones while driving - this includes our car line and parking lot.
3. All adults will need to show picture ID to gain entry to the building. Be prepared to show your state driver's licence, State or Military ID - We also utilize the Raptor system to scan IDs, know who is in the building and help keep children safe.
4. Adults without car tags, starting Monday, will be parked and will need to wait until 3:45 when the car line finishes, while we begin the lengthy process of checking your ID against our records of who is permitted to pick up the child.
5. Adults are not permitted in the student bathrooms, please report to the front desk to be directed to the appropriate bathroom for visitors.
6. See Something, Say Something. If it looks suspicious or if a person is not wearing identification, please do not hesitate to report to the closest CSUSA employee.
7. Please talk with your children about safety. If it is unsafe, they need to follow adult directions: "Locks, Lights, Out of Sight!"
8. We will hold the car line if there is lightning in the area. We must keep everyone safe.
9. After 2:30, we have students/adults preparing for afternoon dismissal stations and adults picking up children will be redirected to join the car line for pick up and not admitted through the front doors.
10. As we practice and finalize our protocols, process and procedures, we will not be permitting volunteers the first week of school. This includes eating lunch with children as a visitor. Thank you for your understanding.
11. Direct all digital communication from yourself and from students through Edmodo and school issued email accounts.
12. Students not in school uniform, will be provided a uniform to change into for the day, as it is a safety measure to be able to identify a student who belongs here. Middle School students can be the size of a small adult or a high school student and we need to be able to clearly identify who belongs on campus and in the building on sight.
13. Please remain in your car in the car loop. Adults approaching back and side doors, or approaching the playground gate are a cause for alert.
14. If you are part of law enforcement and would like to serve on our safety team that meets, evaluates, plans and improves our campus safety, please reach out to Mrs. Sauer.
Medication For 19-20 School Year
If your child will be taking any medications, prescription, or over the counter....we will need an authorization form filled out. Please have a health care professional fill it out prior to dropping it off. Students no longer need a form on file to carry sunscreen.
